5 out of 5 eggsWorks good Win7 64-bit

Pros: Have used this to make multiple copies. Decent quality. The software is a little different than my old CanoScan. No complaints. It does what it is made for.

Cons: can't think of anything.

Other Thoughts: I have had it for over 4 months and it works just as well as the day I received it.

5 out of 5 eggsworks with windows 7 64 bit

Pros: Following the instructions don"t plug in scanner. Do easy install from included software. Restart windows. plug in scanner. Initially drivers are not found, but then the drivers download from windows and scanner works great.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsGood so far.

Pros: Scanned some very old documents (from the 1920's) and it did a great job. These documents were too delicate to even take to a copy machine somewhere.

Cons: It's a little noisy when scanning and makes a noise when you first turn on your computer but no big deal.

Other Thoughts: I think it's pretty cool that it gets all it's power from the USB port.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Scanner For A College Students

Pros: -Very lightweight
-Has a lock button on the bottom of the scanner to secure internal parts while transporting
-Very easy to setup
-Starts up in less than 10 seconds after connecting
-Easy to use interface
-Programmable one-click buttons
-Scans a page in about 22 seconds
-Great for scanning pictures/diagrams out of textbooks for reports

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I personally use the scanner every now-and-again but it has never failed me when I needed it. The box it comes in is great for transporting it and keeps the scanner from receiving and damage.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding performance!

Pros: I purchased this for my dad who wanted to scan a bunch of his old photos onto his computer. The fact that this thing is powered off of the USB port limits the cables adding to the rat's nest, and is impressive.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The software is pretty good, stable, and easy to understand. The one touch buttons on the front of the unit also work quite well. Want to print a copy of something? Put it in the scanner and press COPY. When it's done scanning, it sends it to the printer, and does NOT save a copy on the hard drive. If you want to save a copy on the HD, you gotta SCAN it. Pretty handy little feature if you ask me.

4 out of 5 eggsAdequate Scanner, Decent Software

Pros: This scanner has served me and my business well, and is still kicking almost 11 months later. It is not for super high-quality archives, but more so for good-enough scanning/printing, and at this it excels. Fairly fast, average scanning quality for colors, does a better than average job at scanning B&W/Greyscale, solid and lightweight construction, USB-powered -- it's really great for business trips and such if you have a large enough laptop bag to fit it into (~15.5" or wider).

Cons: Could use better software, as it never makes terribly clear where/when something is written to your hard drive. I would also like if there was less noise to the color scans, which can take some creative tweaking to correct.

Other Thoughts: I think, given the choice, I would have bought a higher quality scanner for the price, but there probably isn't anything else in this price range that touches the quality of the LiDE 100.

4 out of 5 eggsNice scanner, NOT Linux-compatible

Pros: Good scanner, no real functionality issues.

Cons: Not Linux-compatible. I know this isn't an issue for many, but for those who run Linux and are considering buying this, be forewarned. I'm having to run WinXP on VirtualBox to use this scanner.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat scanner!

Pros: High resolution scanning, no power cable - just USB connection, has a lot of advanced scanning settings when using the "driver" and not the Scan Utility

Very light and portable!

Cons: Nothing major...

The "one touch" buttons do not seem to work in Mac OS X

Not an easy way to import scan directly into Photoshop, but oh wlel

Other Thoughts: The "one touch" buttons do not seem to work in Mac OS X, however, its not that big of a deal because you can just use the Canon Scan Utility and it works perfectly.

My complaints aren't huge, but luxeries that would make the scanner even better. This is a very nice unit!
