no problems for me
- Pros: It works great when installed properly. For Windows XP, install the driver only ... not the software.
- Cons: Do not install from software provided ... it causes conflict with windows XP and will not work.
- Other Thoughts: FOR XP USERS
You will need to just pop in the network card, at which time you'll get a message on windows saying a hardware is detected, do you wish to search for drivers for it? Say yes, then pop in the disc provided... then have windows search for the driver in the cd drive. Or if you've downloaded the driver from manufacturer's website, then search for the driver in that folder. Never run setup from the software, it does not work.
My network card is running great ... even on a 400mhz Pentium II laptop. So I don't doubt the quality of the product... just the software isn't tested properly before it was packaged for sale.
- Pros: I've had this model for about 4 months and it has worked flawlessly.Has connected to speeds up to 270 mps but the average seems to be 120 mps or so. Would recommend buying revision 2 or higher of this router. Several people have had issues with the first version .
- Cons: Range is only average, so don't expect miracles at long distances. You have to look for the the second or third revision of router as the first version does have issues. (The earlier version should be out of the retail pipeline by now, so even this should not be an issue.)
- Other Thoughts: This has been a very good router for the money. Would also recommend upgrading to Network Magic Pro as this router only comes with the trial version of that software. It's well worth the money if you have several computers on your lan to maintain.
WPC300N-BP
- Pros: Works Great. Connects everytime and stays connected at 300 mbps, and the router is in the celler 1 floor down.
- Cons: Don't forget to install software 1st.
