DO NOT Buy for Panasonic P2 to MacBook Conversion

Pros: Works with PC Laptops running Windows when converting Panasonic P2 cards (PCMCIA sized) to an ExpressCard slot

Cons: DOES NOT WORK with MacBook Pro's when converting Panasonic P2 cards (PCMCIA sized) to an ExpressCard slot.

Other Thoughts: After a couple correspondence emails with StarTech's support, they confirmed that this adapter does not work with P2 cards and MacBook Pros. Purchase the Duel Adapter from Duel Systems instead--that is the only PCMCIA to ExpressCard adapter (besides Panasonic's $1k proprietary P2 readers), that will work with the new MacBook Pros.

Works With P2 Cards once you find drivers

Pros: Allows read/write of Panasonic P2 cards - thus eliminating need for $$$$ proprietary card reader.

Cons: Driver was difficult to install. No info on vendor site. Once you load P2 drivers, then insert P2 card with adaptor, tell windows to search location on driver install (windows)

C:\Program Files\Panasonic P2\Drivers\Card

Then it installs and sees everything.

Pros: It works

Cons: None that have presented themselves

Other Thoughts: Considering there isn't a whole lot of choice when choosig adapters of this type it does exactly as it sows, converts express to pcmcia. I have apcmcia wireless broadband card for my work and they will not convert to express just for me so I purchased this adapter and have had no problems so far...
