1 out of 5 eggsBad Product

Pros: Looks nice.

Cons: We ran some tests and the device ran for about 1/3 of it's rated capacity. Our APC lasted about 90% of rated capacity. We will contact Belkin to find out what's going on.

Other Thoughts: Seems to be a lot of people having problems with these. Belkin used to make bullet-proof stuff.

2 out of 5 eggsI build my own computers.

Pros: Software worked very well, Belkin linked to computer as smooth as can be. I liked how the software monitored the electrical system and how you can TEST you standby source. Showed Load usage in watts. Estimates available battery life.

Cons: I will never buy a Belkin again. It went out in just 1 year. I don't care if they offer me a replacement for free. No thanks!
I owned an APC prior and it work flawlessly. I bought the higher amperage Belkin to match my new computer. (THAT WAS A MISTAKE!!! )
I replaced the battery in my old APC and gave it to a programmer friend of mine. That APC is still working!!!!

Other Thoughts: I never should have purchased a Belkin. I've read of other buyers having problems with Belkin as well.

2 out of 5 eggsMore hassel that it's worth

Pros: Charged the unit overnight before even turning it on, as Belkin recomends. Pluged it into a brand new computer, Windows saw and installed it. Bulldog software installed perfectly and everything was great...

Cons: Everything was great until the first power outage. The computer was off at that time, but the next time I booted it up, Bulldog couldn't communicate with the UPS. Attempted to use the software on the website, but still nothing, but at least Windows still saw that the UPS was connected. RMA'd it. Windows never even saw the second one so I RMA'd that one also. Also, the software with the new unit wouldn't install on Vista x64, even though the lousy tech support said it should.

Other Thoughts: I am now on my third unit, charging the battery as I type. If this one doesn't work I'm going to return it as well and take my business to APC.

Oh yeah, about Belkins tech support, their first question to me was, "Is your computer turned on?". What a joke. It's about time these companies brough there tech support back to America.

5 out of 5 eggsLots of these and no issues ever

Pros: Keeps 850 w PC and it's 32" LCD flatscreen, DSL modem and router all running on battery after loss of power for an hour or more.
Good filtering of spikes and brownouts

Cons: none really, wish it had more receptacles, but what can one expect for such a small cheap powerhouse?

Other Thoughts: We have installed these at our customer sites, and on the floor at our company for our users PC's, never had any issues with even 1 of them.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for the Price

Pros: Price, AVR - not just a UPS. Handles sags and brownouts as well. If you do not know what AVR is google it... don't get a ups without it!

Cons: Won't work with infrant ReadyNAS.
Plugs on top - I am now getting a different model Belkin that is 'rack' mountable (if you have a shelf) and it's plugs are in the rear- where they belong. Also If I am not mistaken only half of the outlets on this unit are battery backed up (and AVR). the others are surge only

Other Thoughts: Not as long lived as a comparable APC unit but costs a fraction of the price (I use APC for Servers and Infrant NASs (which seem to only work with APC...)

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Price Name

Cons: Purchased 3 units, all have been replaced by belkin at least once, have to have another one replaced again.

Other Thoughts: Nice exterior design but there is a major flaw in the circuitry on these units, they don't last more than a year for us

3 out of 5 eggsSo So

Pros: Its ok. Unit was new manufactured in in novmember 2006

Cons: Tested this unit with about 20-25% load (150-175 watts) and this thing lasted barely 5 mins. I am not sure how someone got 21 mins he might want to run his test again.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you run a test on these things when you get them. It never lasts as long as they claim.

5 out of 5 eggsI bought the previous model...

Pros: Several short term outages and it keeps the wireless network router going for hours while I use the laptop (media PC shuts down).

Cons: That sharp pitch beeping really gets my attention.

Other Thoughts: I don't use the software that came with it - just plug it in and wondows does its thing. Just pull the cord out of the wall to test it - that way you know the batteries are good for the real thing.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after less than 2 months

Pros: The Bulldog software is pretty great, espicially compared to PowerChute. It gives good info and I believe Belkin makes decent products.

Cons: I had not tested my battery when my power went out for less than a minute and as soon as the power went out my computer shut down. I think I got a defective unit and asked for an RMA 3 days ago, but so far no response from Belkin. They say 3-5 day response time. Good thing I wasn't dependant on this unit.

Other Thoughts: It appears from the reviews that Belkin must have bought a batch of defective batteries and should recall this unit or notify owner of the defect.

5 out of 5 eggsNewer Unit Shipping?

Pros: I received a newer model than what is pictured here. It is not even listed on Belkin's website.

Cons: The new version UPS ships with some JAVA based software instead of the tried and true Bulldog software. As a result, the user interface is something only a Linux addict could love. The newe software requires a key code to install it and isn't available on Belkin's website for download. The new model is also incompatible with the older Bulldog software. The load meter on the new model is off quite a bit. It was reading only 9% load when it was closer to 20% (as verified by a Kil-A-Watt). This UPS consumes 32W all by itself.

Other Thoughts: If you value your computer, you should have a good UPS... It is cheap insurance.
