Powers network
- Pros: Powers little equipment, old computer (firewall), switch, modem,...
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Small form factor fit well on my cable-madness-shelf.
Good size, but moderate unit
- Pros: Size is nice; great for when you don't need the power/surge strip style unit (which are common at this VA level) that take up lots of space.
- Cons: Mine used two hard-to-find/replace Sxxx UPSA690W batteries (6V/90W ea). Also, the units only kick out 48-53Hz (rather than the standard US 60Hz) when on battery, which is concerning.
- Other Thoughts: Batteries eventually die and need replacement; most vendors use common types that you can buy at various online generic battery sites. Bummer this one didn't, or I would have rated it higher.
Great for networking equipment
- Pros: Nice and small, mounts to the wall easily, and has sufficient battery life for networking equipment. I power my router (Linksys SRX400) and cable modem on it.
- Cons: Though I ordered it new retail, it appeared used, with damage to one of the mounting holes and a few dents/scratches.
- Other Thoughts: Even though it was obviously used, the unit works great. I did not have to change any jumpers for my low-draw equipment--whether or not the previous user already set it or if it works new, I don't know. I have it mounted to a floor joyce in my basement, near where my router and modem are. It is compact and effective.
