I like it
- Pros: Great sound quality, charge last a long time. Just Audio player rips and stores files on the player so there is no guessing as to where they go. Screen is bright.
- Cons: Instruction booklet almost useless. Justaudio "explorer" program does not work quite right on my Win 2000 computer, but I use windows "explorer" to get to the files.
- Other Thoughts: The supplied program Just Audio does not give the option to rip to mp3 which I found strange for a mp3 player. But I have used the ogg file format and it sounds better that other mp3 files that I played on it.
about JetAudio
- Pros: The program that this mp3 player comes with is called JetAudio, not "JustAudio". It is my absolute favorite media player (I've tried "Nerovision", "WinAmp", "Windows media player" and a few others). The program allows you to rip, record, convert, and to an extent edit audio in WMV, WMV9, FLAC, OGG, SPEEX, and other formats as well. It is compatible with WinAmp's visualizations and comes with several of it's own. It can also be docked to the top or bottom of the screen as a toolbar, and has an independently dockable playlist. It supports video playback from every format I've encountered, mpg mp4 wmv DivX and avi.
- Cons: It also supports video conversion for an extra fee. Until paid you can still convert video up to 30sec. in length.
- Other Thoughts: Everything in my "PROS" section was about the JetAudio program. As far as the device itself goes...I will ONLY purchase music players from COWON America. "PC Magazine" had an article on mp3 players recently and based on user reviews the iAudio series from COWON America was ranked 2nd only to iPod. (The iAudio's won in sound quality!) Of course I beleive that that's because SOME iPod users aren't intelligent enough to criticize the little rectangles at the end of their headphone cords. Another note: COWON recently released a new version of JetAudio (7.0.1), it's available for free download from their website and can be used even without purchasing an iAudio.

Nice when it's not crashing
- Pros: Small, Light, freaking small, weightless, decent O/S, navigates folders well. Plays variety of formats.
- Cons: Crashes on some .flac. Just reboots and hangs. Have to turn it off a few times to get it to truly reset.
Weightless - have to keep track of it on purpose.
- Other Thoughts: Not really sure if video is worth while at that resolution.
- Pros: This player has amazing sound quality, comparable to high-end stereo systems. It plays oggs, which means the 2GB can fit more high quality music than you'd expect. Also, it thankfully functions as a USB mass storage device, allowing easy, free file transfers without bloatware such as i*tunes. Make sure to check out the podcastready.com website for the podcast functionality of i*tunes.
- Cons: 2GB is a little small, but this isn't a big deal for me as I like to load new podcasts and music somewhat frequently anyhow.
- Other Thoughts: Great player and I'm surprised about how few people are aware of these little guys.
