Really happy I purchased this
- Pros: -Found this on sale, so the price was great.
-Automatically syncs time.
-Can tag music for Ipod.
-HD radio worked just fine. We live about 20 miles from a medium sized city, and have approximately 10-12 stations broadcasting in HD. I can pick up most with this radio.
-Great sound.
-AM HD radio sounds really really good.
- Cons: -None.
- Other Thoughts: Even though the price was nice for this unit, it's an expensive alarm clock.
Do Not Purchase This Item
- Pros: Radio clarity is good. Too bad the cons outshine the pros.
- Cons: Time sync between iPod and radio can take anywhere from 10 seconds to 20 minutes.
Time does not stay set. Time will also change to something higher then 24 hours. (According to this clock, I left work at 28:03 the other day...??...) Time will not stay at a 12 hour setting and will default back to a 24 hour setting.
- Other Thoughts: I've been using the replacement for a week now. Thoroughly disgusted with this product. Although it's not elligible for a refund, I'm going to contact NewEgg and see if anything can be done. Love NewEgg, hate iHD171!!

- Pros: It works with the iPhone 3G. Good clean sound.
- Cons: Does not allow the charging of a docked iPod/iPhone unless the radio is in iPod mode or the radio is turned off. Meaning that you cannot charge your iPod/iPhone while listening to the radio. Big downer there.
Also, you cannot toggle the display to show the clock while listening to the radio. The clock only displays while in iPod mode or if the unit is off.
- Other Thoughts: I received the replacement yesterday and after successfully using this one, i do regret my purchase. While the item works, it does not meet my expectations. For the price, it should do more then just play iPod's and tune in HD channels.
The video output feature is adequate.
I'm on the fence as to whether or not i would recommend this product.
