  • iPod video Compatible
ICON Loading...

The Kensington all-in-one FM transmitter/auto charger allows you to listen to your iPod’s music library in your car, home or office, while charging on the go! Just select a clear, open FM station on the transmitter, tune your car or home stereo (or boom box!) to the same station, and you’re done! The unit will remember 3 FM stations you choose, so you won’t waste time searching for a station when you connect.

With ClearFM technology, you’ll get rich, full, CD-quality sound with enhanced stereo separation and no aggravating hissing tape sounds in the background. This all-in-one unit is compatible with all full-sized iPod models, and nano. Anyone who has ever been on a road trip, driving through an area with 3 radio stations (all of them bad!) will appreciate the ability to put his own tiny radio station on the air!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great with iPod Classic

Pros: I have an iPod classic 80gb. It works great! No static, charges iPod while it plays. It works best for me when I'm on a station in the 8x.x, it's powerful enough to cover most competition from other FM stations.

Cons: The sound out put is very hot, and give lots of bass, this is bad if you have cheep or very small speakers. The two metal prongs are very stiff, it took some work to get it in the hole the first few times.

Other Thoughts: I have a 98' Toyota Camery, it works with both the DC power port and cig. lighter.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do. Backlighting. Easy to use. Charges the pod on the go.

Cons: plastic kind of feels flimsy and easily crackable.

Other Thoughts: Had this for about 3 weeks now and it does very well. I did a lot of research and found this as the highest rated. My glove box has a jack and the leather is soft enough that only my ipod and a little bit of cord come out. I'm using a frequency that actually has a broadcasted station and I can't hear the station at all when it's plugged in. I guess it's not a very powerful station. Very rarely do I have to switch stations. I've notice srackle in the speakers during thunderstorms (as to be expected) and the occasional hiss when you pass some type of structure broadcasting (i.e. Highway patrol headquarters, tv or radio stations, airports).

It's great. Look no further. Spend the extra $30 compared to some of the cheaper knock-offs. If you know what you're doing and how radio waves can be interfered with, you'll test this on the move and not sitting in your garage on in one spot. Gotta pick the best frequency while you're moving if you live in a metropolitan area.

5 out of 5 eggsworls like a charm

Pros: Works with the Ipod easily. Has a long cord to put in a good place in the car. Very easy to get up and running. Audio quality very high for FM transmission, and the price is great.

Cons: Depending on the song, there is a little hissing that can occur, but

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Solution, Not Perfect

Pros: Great solution if you don't have a 3.5 mm auxilliary input jack to your car stereo. Easy to use. A one-cord solution that plays AND charges.

Cons: FM interference. We get a solid-sounding signal with good fidelity, but a wee bit of static over top.

Other Thoughts: The idea solution will be plugging directly into your stereo. Chances are if you don't have a aux input for your car stereo, then your car is old enough or your stereo is old enough that this will be fine.

5 out of 5 eggsCheapest option and it works

Pros: Good price and it does what it's supposed to.

Cons: Not exactly powerful in that I get some interference on various channels.

Other Thoughts: I will need to use it more to determine the absolute best frequency.

5 out of 5 eggsa good inexpensive alternative

Pros: not expensive compared to other products. simple and intuitive to use. good sound reproduction. small and easy to store or not. recharges your ipod while you're listening to it.

Cons: as others have mentioned, there is a hissing added to the "s"es or cymbals in music. but if you play with the eq on your ipod it's less noticeable.

Other Thoughts: overall it's a great way to be able to listen to an ipod in your or another person's car without having to replace the stereo.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat if you use the right setting

Pros: Easy to config, great signal, turn off the iPod when shut down the car. Sound is great if you know what to do.

Cons: I wrote the review "Good but not perfect" because it gave me "broken sound". After tons of research, I found the solution.

Other Thoughts: I have an iPod Nano. To fix the "broken sound" problem, you must go to your iPod's menu->setting->EQ, select "treble reducer" or "small speaker. And then adjust your car’s audio accordingly.
