3 out of 5 eggsNot for Enthusiasts

Pros: Easy to build, spiffy looks, nice size

Cons: lousy motherboard, refused to run cheap or OCZ or Corsair memory at 667, let alone 800. Finally ran with Apida memory. SINGLE CHANNEL memory, no dual channel

C2D chips run at 800FSB with latest BIOS, fine for E4500. Only TWO (2) regular USB headers on the board. There are two more 5-pin USB headers, but who has 5-pin adapting cables?????

No card reader behind the stealth panel (below the CD doors) - EMPTY SLOT. Card readers come with 9-pin rectangular plug, not 5-pin linear plug, thus you must disable the 2 front panel USB's to use the header on the board.

Overclocking? Don't even think about it.

Onboard Graphics get a whopping (1.0) per Vista on highest settings.

Even with X1950 pro in the PCI-E slot, doesn't seem to have anywhere near the spunk of the same bits on a Gigabyte G965-s2.

Odd back panel size prevents using a different mobo.

Other Thoughts: Not for hardcore or even lumpy core enthusiasts.

Great for a dorm.

Vista installed quickly, but I like the A*us barebones setup better.

5 out of 5 eggsShuttle SS31T

Pros: Extremely easy to build. More internal room than I expected. No messy cables to speak of.
Installed Pentium D 915, 2G Buffalo select DDR2, Samsung 18x DVD burner with lightscribe, and Nvidia 7300GS.
System, so far, performing well.

Cons: Wish Shuttle had included a reset button. Flimsy springs on the stealth doors.

Other Thoughts: This is my fourth Shuttle, and it was the easiest to build. Even though this is an inexpensive unit it is by no means a cheap design. I recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsnot all that bad

Pros: \/

Cons: \/

Other Thoughts: The day my 1500 dollar computer crashed (~4 yrs old), I had to find a cheap solution, and this was it. 3.2ghz p4 800mhz fsb, 1.5g DDR400 ram, 16x DL DvD burner, DVD burner, tv tuner card etc. I can use the same processor, gfx and tv tuner card, hdds, etc and simply purchase 2g of DDR2@667 for $199 shipped ($179 after rebates).

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Very Small, and the fan is quiet (after turning it down to "LOW" in bios). It's cheap, but looks very professional. I plan on buying a few more of these very soon. Includes motherboard and power supply as well as front USB and audio ports. For the money you really can't beat it, and it looks great next to a nice LCD.

Cons: Space is a little tight inside, but I guess that's expected due to its size.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you turn down the system fan in bios, if you don't this thing sounds like a 747 taking off when you power it on. When installing XP, sve yourself hours of trouble by making the SATA controller emulate an IDE bus.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: I'm running this with a Core2Duo E4300 1.8GHZ, 2GB RAM, BFG Geforce 7900 GS OC, & Vista Basic. The system runs great! My Windows Experience Index score is 4.2 though limited by the ram, since the MB does not run at PC-6400 speed. The fans can be controlled. On Auto System Fan speed, it's quite loud so I reduced System Fan speed to Low and now it's pretty quiet and runs cool still. I kept CPU fan speed at Auto though. The on-board sound needs drivers downloaded for vista though. The power supply is only 250 watt, but it has run my hardware flawlessly(NOTE: my video card asked for 400~ watt minimum)
-Looks great!

Cons: -NO support for dual channel memory. My roommate's windows experience index score for memory went up from 4.2 to 4.9 by switching! He has a diff mb though.
-NO spare 4-pin USB power ports. I tried plugging in a Flash Card Reader , but it was 4-pin. The mb supports 5-pin USB.

Other Thoughts: Overall, at $100 it's a great value! Good-looking compact case, power supply, & a motherboard.

4 out of 5 eggsI Like it, mostly

Pros: Lots of room in case can remove even has a tray to pull the MOBO.

Cons: Spring loaded doors on 5 1/4 bays designed for Shuttle Brand curved tray on bottom (bend door to remove). Would like AIT or Nvida on board Video not SIS.

Other Thoughts: BTX power supplies are hard to find should have a 550 Watt (for the PCIe x16) if you want to play games.

4 out of 5 eggsNice.

Pros: I like the size and the front bezel keeps everything uniform no matter what cdrom drive you get. Inside edges are rolled to prevent a loss of a digit.
CPU placement on the motherboard allows for a nice big heat sink.

Cons: The top case fan seems a bit too loud for my taste, but this machine is being placed in an environment louder than the fan. Would not suggest placing it up on the desk next to your ear.
You have to take the motherboard out to replace the RAM. But, to be expected due to the size of the case.

Other Thoughts: Overall, nice solid case. No issues with the motherboard either. Included two SATA data cables, one IDE cable and extra screws for HD/CDROM/Floppy.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PC 4 the money

Pros: Easy to get up and running, super price. I built the whole system for under three hundred dollars and put one gig of ddr in it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've built two of these Shuttles for friends who needed an affordable system for email and internet browsing. I usually build top of the line gaming computers for my customers but, these Shuttles are great budget computers. These other clowns knocking this design obviously don't know what they are doing. If you want something more spend more, you get what you pay for.

1 out of 5 eggsThe Worst Shuttle Ever

Pros: None - a total waste of $xxx plus shipping.

Cons: The most ridiculous system Shuttle has ever come up with. I'll never buy another Shuttle.

Other Thoughts: Build a case that doesn't even use all the MB headers and functions? Sure. May as well screw up the two 5 1/4 bays, too, by making them "stealth" bays. Don't expect that just taking the faceplates off your CD/DVD drives will help, either. You're a fool if you buy a Shuttle.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: small size...lots of space for many drives. quite power supply.

Cons: onboard video not well shielded...faint distortion in image. pci-e video cards only run with windows default drivers. ati or nvidia drivers will get you bsod with 0x000007f error means some kind of hardware error..proberly chipset. missing firewire header on mobo. diagram shows it, but it is not there. shuttle support non responsive. last shuttle box i will ever buy.
