- Pros: To many options to list. Hooked this up to sony 52" HDTV and 26" monitor via HDMI and the Blu-Ray movies are amazing. XPC tools is great little utility. Nice looking front panel.
- Cons: HEAT, NOISE, Video Card Room!!! First off make sure this is in an open air environment. The temp runs about 40 C inside the case and the processor is @ 56 C with my Quad Core. I can get the processor down to about 46 C but the fan has to be blowing hard which makes alot of noise. I choose to run it a bit warmer to keep the room quite. Last there is barely ( I mean none) room for the graphics power adapter to snap in. You need to be sure to attach power before seeding card. I would like to see slim 90 degree adapter for video cards in this machine.
I would probably go with the Shuttle SX38P2 or Shuttle SX48P2. It seems to have better cooling and is just a hair bit bigger.
Other than the heat / noise issues is purpose is well served
- Other Thoughts: Quad Core Q6600, 4GB of DDR2, 8800GT, 2 x 1TB Hitachi HD, Pioneer Blu-Ray, Vista Ultimate
Looks good, but many issues unresolved
- Pros: Great looking box, solid construction, everything comes built in and assembles very fast.
- Cons: No VDF driver or XPC tools for Vista 64 bit.
Very very picky about the ram, make sure to go to the shuttle site and check for compatible modules.
Support is non-existent, I contacted shuttle with no response.

Brought 2 one works other DEAD
- Pros: Great Little Computer,
- Cons: On board graphics card is only 1mg to 8mg had to order upgrade. Got 1 system up and running great, Vista Biz. Went to turn on Second PC DOA, Lights Camera if it had one, no action. Have to pay over $13 to ship it back I hope newegg will test the new one!
- Other Thoughts: The CD Drive plate is not removable. The software for the screen only has the custom text when the xtools program is running you can not change the default.
WONDERFUL PLATFORM
- Pros: Works flawlessly with windows 7 32 bit. There was not a known version for XPC tools. But this is solved by the compatibility mode in windows itself. install the vista version in 32 bit and run it in compatibility mode for vista 32 bit in windows 7. VFD driver found itself as well as the fingerprint reader. Bluetooth and wireless and remote..... amazing!
- Cons: Fingerprint reader is useless. software has a total of 5 activations and will not function after that, so no messing around testing it for me. Took a while to figure the relationship between BIOS and the VFD display built into the front panel. Additionally all pin headers for USB on motherboard are used in the deluxe version. Comes with blank 3.5" sot for card reader/floppy/extra HDD but no more space to plug usb stuff in. No 64 bit support for vista or vindows 7 as of this review for the VFD display and the XPC tools.
- Other Thoughts: E5300 dual core pentium (wolfdale core) overclocked to 3.06 GHZ from stock 2.50 GHZ using the shuttle ice ICE in manual control mode. set to 100 fan speed of 127(using xpc tools). the way the fan pulses in smart control mode is highly annoying. i just found a number i could live with in and cool the box sufficiently. memory used was g skill 1GB sticks X 2. ddr2 800 but manual timings were set to 667 fsb to avoid a problem i was having with the intel 3100 chipset after overclocking the FSB to 245 to get the 3.06 GHZ (which ended up bringing the '667Mhz' to exactly 814 Mhz, which is a very mild overclock. i got so frustrated with subpar video i put in an ATI hd4650 512 mb ddr3 video card, games are smooth as silk now as well as bluray. optical out (SPDIF) going into my home theater receiver. and an extra usb card in the PCI slot that had some extra pin headers so i could plug in a 52-1 card reader in the front 3.5 inch bay. This thing rocks !!!! thank you Newegg for some serious savings
Update to Vista 64 bit issue
- Pros: Update to my last comment. The issue was not related to video driver or any other hardware. It was to do with spydoctor from Google pack on vista 64 bit.
