The power of a nüvi GPS from Garmin doesn't have to break the bank. The nüvi 260 has all the features you need to get where you're going without complicating the process. It comes pre-loaded with maps for the North America. There's also a pre-loaded database of Points of Interest to make your trip more enjoyable.

Just enter a destination on the 3.5" touch screen and you're on your way. With maps shown in 2D or 3D and turn by turn directions with street names you don't have to worry about missing a turn. Add custom points of interest like school zones and traffic cameras, then set warnings to let you know they're coming up.

You can upgrades through the USB port or SD cards. With a GPS from Garmin, getting lost isn't an option.

Nice GPS for price

Pros: This GPS unit is pretty much exactly what I needed. It doesn't have all the extras that i won't use (i.e. MP3 player, Bluetooth) and it works great. It recalculates routes very fast and accurately. It's small, has no annoying antenna and it's very easy to use. This is my first GPS unit and I would recommend this to any first time buyers.

Cons: No AC charger included; have to charge in car w/o it. Garmin lock only uses 4 digits which may be not very hard to crack for some people.

Other Thoughts: I used my USB cable from my PS3 controller to connect my GPS to my computer and I was able to upload a bunch of cool stuff from Garmin such as different voices and different car icons. Garmin just recently released the 2009 map update and I was allowed to download it for free ($69.99 value)!

Pros: My son has one and so far it has been just outstanding! Based on his experience I will probably buy this model. After comparing with other models I believe this is the best value...

Cons: Minor issue, screen could be a little bigger...

Nice device - don't use Garmin's Web Updater!

Pros: Excellent navigation. Very, very good screen and touch response.

Cons: Difficult to to update. Garmin has not posted separately downloadable updates; they instead make you use their Web Updater, which turned my unit into a paperweight ("System Software Not Found!").

Pros: Well ofcourse I didnt get lost and it did always drive me according to my selection (shortest or fastest), it has a new version of the maps and avoided all blocked or closed roads while my dads GPS took us there!! Speaking street name feature was alot more usefull than I thought, another thing I like is that it alerts me couple of times before the turn while other GPS trademarks only warns once or twice and sometimes you dont have enough time to make the turn (especially on highways), I used it in my trip to Kansas and Saint Louis and it did a great job ... I would definitly recommend it to a friend

Cons: - NONE, or wait a second.. the US voice was like a Sargent commanding his soldiers .. I really mean it, I had to change the voice to British since the Brit was alot more Kinder ...lol

Other Thoughts: Just change the US voice to a better less commanding one

Pros: very easy to use! gets signal quickly. lots of poi's. got the garmin update from the garmin site which retails at $70 for free. really like this navi

Cons: screen is a little smaller. thinking i should have gone with the widescreen
