Not worth the headaches
- Pros: If you wanted to have a portable picture/mp3/movie player, get this gadget. If you're interested in GPS, read the Cons...
- Cons: The first one I received was DOA. It would not hold the SD card for one, and for another, it would not turn on. I received the 2nd one after waiting 2 weeks for the RMA to process through. If you wanted this thing for GPS, you bought the wrong product. First off, you have to install 3 applications onto your PC just to get the thing to communicate with your PC. Then loading any maps onto it is hit or miss. Also, just opening the user's manual pdf caused Acrobat Reader to shut off on its own after being open for 2 seconds. Too many problems for the price.
- Other Thoughts: Don't get this for GPS. If you want a portable picture/mp3/movie player, get this one if you don't mind being lost.
Good enough for all your needs
- Pros: Accurate directions, can store other media files, good price. Can store many US maps on a 1 gig sd card.
- Cons: Limited 1 gig max storage, talked to mfr. they tried 2gig sd card and it worked. Can't listen to music and use nav. at same time. Buttons don't stay lit
- Other Thoughts: Can even plug in external storage but usb 1.1 is too slow to read big files (movies) but can read small music files..ect.
