No Battery Included
- Pros: None, as I can't power it on.
- Cons: No battery, so it's useless.
- Other Thoughts: I received the box, and there's no English, just Spanish, and it had already been opened (seal broken). Do not buy this unless you have a battery for it.
It gets one egg because I like Newegg, first bum deal from them.
Decent phone, decent price
- Pros: I have Tmobile and this phone is working great with the service thus far.
The first that I'd like to clear up is that this phone does indeed come with a battery. I read one of the recent reviews and someone mentioned that this phone did not come with a battery and it worried me about ordering it. When I did get the phone, there was a battery and charger pre-packaged with it. If your phone did not come with a battery, you need to check behind the flap where the phone was resting on, as it is hidden in that area.
The phone is a decent replacement. My phones never last me over 6 months. I spend a lot of time outdoors, diving, rock climbing etc... and there is always an accident that claims the lives of each of the phones I've had. I got this phone so I can take it instead of my nicer phones.
Seems rugged enough to be thrown around a bit. Menus are nice, and it is mildly customizable. Has a mini usb port so you can customize ring tones with Motorola phone tools.
- Cons: I wish it had a password locking mechanism for certain applications, like text messages and contacts. Most Moto phones have this built in.
- Other Thoughts: I would get a carry/protective case for it pronto. Screen seems prone to scratching.
Spartan and solid features
- Pros: 1. Cheap price, durable construction.
2. Recognizes AT&T/Cingular Sim Card.
3. Call quality is good; clear.
4. Came with battery (BQ50), AC Adapter.
5. Universal mini-USB connector.
- Cons: 1. Small buttons, even when compared to Motorola Razr V3.
2. Instructions and box documentation in Spanish. Mine originally locked for a company called 'Telcel'.
3. No physical manual Volume control / sound profile.
- Other Thoughts: This phone scores high marks for usability and solid essential features. Menu system layout is similar to that of the Razr V3, although some buttons are switched around (select/exit).
If you are looking for:
-a solid backup phone.
-an alternative to being locked in to another 2-yr service agreement with AT&T and need to replace your current phone.
-enjoy the flexibility of mini-usb connectivity.
-use your phone strictly as a phone (and not for IM, photography class, media player, GPS, etc).
then give this phone a try.
