Samsung Over-The-Ear-Stereo/Mono Bluetooth Headset with Dedicated on & off Switch Black (WEP870)

Cons: The sound quality of the stereo earbuds sucks. The Mic could be better. It is prone to problems (see other thoughts) Hard to pair with devices. Has background noise in calling and in listening to music.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this set works well for me. They are wireless and pair well to my LG Xenon which doesn't connect to headphones. My only problem with them is the battery has to remain at at least 2 bars otherwise it might not charge or might not power on till it charges more. The sound was decent. I would NOT pay $24 for them, lucky I didn't. I do not recommend them to anyone simply because they are hard to charge and hard to pair; that is why I only rated it 3 stars.

Pros: I use my headset much more for listening than speaking. I've tried 5 models of Bluetooth headset, and this is my favorite because of the on/off switch and the stereo headphone arrangement.The vast majority of Bluetooth headsets turn on/off by holding down a tiny button for 5-8 seconds. That's not very satisfying, and it takes 5-8 seconds to take effect, and you are never sure you are actually pressing down the button continuously. On the worst-designed headsets, pressing this same button for 3 seconds instead of the full 5-8 ends up redialing the last called number. So, compared to those awful interfaces, a simple dedicated on/off switch is glorious. I really like the detached nature of the stereo mode, where the actual Bluetooth unit hangs down from the headset cords. Every other Bluetooth stereo arrangement tries to re-use the mono headphone in one of your ears. The WEP870 arrangement is much more symmetric and natural.

Cons: The rubber grommet fell off the headset after about 6 months of use, and it now sits painfully in my ear. Including a replacement grommet would be nice. The stereo headsets don't come with a selection of earbuds for different ear canal shapes and sizes.

Other Thoughts: I'd love to find a nice small device that just acts as a Bluetooth relay for any generic audio jack. That would let me plug my own high-quality headphones into one end, and whatever sound source I wanted in the other end. This WEP870 comes closest to that ideal as anything I've seen.

Pros: NOTHING

Cons: The product comes open and missing the interchangeable black earbuds. When you try to return, Stephanie Wang (customer service rep) will accuse of you lying and give you a hard time. There is no easy returns with this company with horribly ignorant and terrible people like Ms. Wang. Don't waste your time buying ANYTHING from here. Got to other sites where you pay a few dollars more for easy service and packages that are not opened and with missing parts.

Other Thoughts: They need to train people like Ms. Wang about customer loyalty and providing service (not lip service). Her treatment alone will scare away customers in this economic meltdown. Good luck surviving with reps like this female dog.

Pros: Price.

Cons: Stop working after 2 days.

Pros: I bought this to be able to listen to sirius radio from an iphone. It works very well for this and for talking. Voice quality is fine from my end and others say they can hear me fine. I can not rate the quality of the headphones for music because I got it just to listen to the talk radio.

Cons: It did not come with a car charger. I contacted both Samsung and Newegg and the customer service was extremely poor from both. This was very surprising from Newegg, but I have never had to call before now. The person I (finally) got on the phone at Samsung told me it should have come with a car charger. Newegg can not confirm or deny that the charger should be included. The guy at Newegg was actually looking at the pics on Newegg.com to tell me that he didn't see one in the pic, so it probably did not come with one. I told him there was no pic of a wall charger either but it was included - he did not have much response to that. It is hard to believe a company like Newegg that sells mostly tech devices has their rep looking at pictures on their website to try and tell me what should be in the box.

Other Thoughts: They have no way of telling what should be in the box until I provide an order # (It was a gift and I will get it to them later). When they get the order #, they can call Samsung to verify, but they apparently can not do this from the product #.

I last note on the Samsung rep - I asked what type of connection was used to connect to the bluetooth so I could try and find a charger myself. He could not tell me. Terrible product knowledge from both companies.

Pros: Great sound quality with HTC Touch Pro2 phone. Excellent range. Outstanding battery life.

Cons: Died in less than 8 months.

Other Thoughts: After living a pampered life, it up and died without any warning whatever. Stuff should last more than a few months.

Pros: Cheap and it works.

Cons: The ear hook is absolute garbage. It broke in the first couple of months just placing around my ear. Samsung does not warranty the ear hooks but offered to sell me another one for $5 PLUS shipping! Newegg was out of them so I was left with a bluetooth that keeps falling out of my ear. Buy one from a more reputable manufacturer that cares like Motorola.

Other Thoughts: Would have been happy if Samsung simply sent out another ear hook as a courtesy since it was within the warranty period.

Pros: Sound is great for listening to stereo music, earbuds are very comfortable and fit my ears perfectly (and I've had problems finding good fit for both ears). Very easy to pair unit to phone and to laptop, I use it for both listening to music and as a headset when gaming. When used as mono headset for phone, microphone works good (see cons). Battery life has proved to be excellent so far, and unit charges faster than expected.

Cons: When unit is paired to stereo earbuds, microphone quality suffers, I don't know if it's because the mic is further from the mouth or if the pairing plug blocks it off. I found that if I adust the cords to pull the unit closer to my mouth it helps.

Other Thoughts: When I'm listening to music, I use the earbuds, if I make or receive a call, I unplug the earbuds and use just the mono headset. For the price it's still a good product and I would recommend it, although I would have to explain the mic problems.

Pros: Good unit, good newegg price, it connects and it works! The stereo buds provide pretty nice sound so no need for Apple products! THe 870 provides excellent incremental volume control allowing the volume to be turned down to a very low comfortable setting (+1) and still hear the world around you.

Cons: But, the volume doesn't go high enough to overcome back ground noise when using the B/T all by itself. Plus the listeners complain about all the back ground noise this unit picks up and dislike having conversations (mainly in-car use). For me the ear bud is large and uncomfortable and it falls out easily when you bend down.

Other Thoughts: They should include multiple bud shapes as all ear holes are not the same. Either that or make the material softer so it can conform to smaller ear openings.

Pros: Unbelievably cheap for use as wireless in-ear monitors while performing on stage. You simply wouldn't believe what it costs to get wireless headphones for use in musical performance with prosumer/musician-targeted gear using other RF protocols. The in-ear monitors block out external sound and act as rudimentary ear-plugs (always good in a loud performance environment) and sound startlingly good for the price, and I'm the type of person with "golden ears" who simply doesn't even listen to music at home unless I've got one of my pairs of $180+ pro cans on, so I'm quite picky... and knowledgeable about what's available. I even managed to make them stream directly from a mixer track via plug-in from any point in the signal chain which is astonishingly useful, making BT A2DP an even better choice for computer-aided music-making.

Cons: As other reviewers have noted, "Nothing about passkey in the included doc." Using them as a musician one must be mindful of the 32' range of BT, but that certainly is not endemic to this product. No case despite the fact that it couldn't cost $0.2 to include one.

Other Thoughts: I got them for $18 and free shipping so it was just a superb deal. I can't comment on the voice quality while paired with a phone as I've not tried it.
