Developed by Amsterdam-based Guerrilla, Killzone PS3 is a military first-person shooter that builds upon the 2004 PlayStation title. Huge Killer PS3 App
- Pros: Graphics are incredible! From the moment you start, you're thinking you're watching great CGI, but then you jump into the game from that point. Sounds are awesome, 7.1 and DTS! Multiplayer is awesome and doesn't lose detail.
- Cons: NA
- Other Thoughts: Play Halo 3 then jump into this. Heck, try any Unreal 3 Engine game and then check this.
Greatness
- Pros: This game is awesome. Running on a 120hz Sony KDL40W4100 technology is freaking fantastic. Also with my 5.1 surround sounds system, it's even better. Graphics are also great, watching the CGI then out of no where your acutally playing the game. The days of playing those games where you watch the CGI and just wished you were playing those graphics has finally came true...
- Cons: None, but a little on the aiming...I wish it was much better.

This game is intense
- Pros: Best graphics i've seen in a console game. Campaign is fun and addictive.
- Cons: No co-op or splitscreen multiplayer
The BEST console FPS
- Pros: Obviously, graphics are very good (720P). Forcing 1080i resolution the game still looks good too just missing certain graphics effects. Not your typical run and gun even on the easiest setting the AI will kill you in later stages. Campaign SP war feel is great and doesn't disappoint. Online MP is also great due to all objective variation occuring on the same map (Capture Flag, Team Kill, Assassination, Capture & Hold) and are server setting optional. Up to 32 players setting, 8 good maps, great classes that requires unlock, a lot of chaos when 16v16.
The MP DLC map packs are very good, too bad not everyone playing has them. Twelve US dollar for all six maps is reasonable and save six US dollars total versus buying them individually. Share them with your trustworthy family and friends who have KZ2 and then start your own MP server session instead of waiting for others to create unbalance ones.
- Cons: Only on the PS3. Not 1080P/ full HD. 30 frame-rate max limit. Weight implementation may annoy and turn off a lot of twitch run and gun FPS fans. Not for everyone, especially, CoD fans who will attempt to find everything wrong about other FPS. Unlike CoD4, campers won't get much excitement due to size of maps, objectives and much chaos. You will die and often so get use to adapting new strategies and changing classes when necessary as MP objectives change. No cheap camper perks.
Half of PSN trophies are MP accomplishments which are most of the time out of players controls. DLC map packs are very difficult to find servers for so just have to create one yourself and wait for others to slowly join.
Obviously, when comparing expensive PC setup vs console game graphics, Crysis is prettier at 'High' setting at a higher cost but not much else. It doesn't take rocket a scientist to figure or point it out. To me, KZ2 is still the best console looking game even compared to UC2. Try the dem
- Other Thoughts: A lot of annoying complaints about imprecise aiming, weight delay, input lag and so forth. Again, this is a tactical FPS where it plays somewhat like Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (cover system) with weight system. I'm sure if GG would have made the controls like CoD4 people would still find ways to say how awful this game is being a clone. A no win situation really.
Everyone has to deal with the same issues so you are not alone. This game does require a lot more skill & patience unlike CoD4. Guns feel different & not just differ skins. Heavy weapons like grenade launcher & bazooka have a slightly longer drag time when doing a 90-180 degree turn, aim & shoot due to weight.
My PS3 dual stick analog setting for X-Axis (Left) is lowered by one click from the half point. For the Y-Axis (right) I lowered sensitivity by two clicks from the half point. This helped with precision aiming a lot with hip shooting (all guns) & over aiming was no longer an issue with Helghast SMG. Highly recommended!
It's ok
- Pros: The graphics are decent. I can undetstand why consolers are blown away by the graphics on this game. Unfortunately I've played both crysis games and I know what REAL mind blowing graphics are like. If this game had some anti aliasing it might almost be bearable to look at.
- Cons: Weapons physics are terrible. Takes you 20 minutes to swing your gun around to shoot someone. I don't own a 360 so I'm not being a fanboy, but I could basically write a list of things tha thtis game steals form gears of war and halo. Petrosite=Immulsion, and their ships were so similar to the ships from halo. The cover system is completely broken also. I also noticed that the framerate seems to drop really bad a lot fo the time. Which is unbearable to a gamer who plays most of his games on the PC.
- Other Thoughts: It's just a run of the mill shooter. Like all shooters it "borrows" prodigiously from predecessors in the genre. Which is why developers up the ante on graphical quality to blind the masses from seeing the true quality of the game. Go play crysis on a PC then come back to this game, and write your review.
