Pros: The remote is nice, and the software is very good. It allows you to emulate keystrokes, so you can use it with just about anything.
Cons: There are no x64 drivers. I called tech support, and the guy told me that there probably NEVER will be any 64 bit drivers. He was smart and knowledgeable, but basically told me I was never going to be able to use this on an x64 OS. He said there weren't enough x64 bit users to write a driver.
He also said that in order to get Vista certified drivers, you need x64 drivers as well. He told me that I should never expect x64 vista drivers, either.
It gets a one, because I can't use it and the company obviously has different priorities.
Other Thoughts: Tech support told me that there's not enough users of x64 bit software, yet, they have plenty of drivers for OS X. In fact, they have drivers for Mac OS 8-9.
The fact that I was basically lied to, and treated like I have very limited technical know how, while I'm a computer science major, really aggravated me. This will be the last Keyspan product I buy.

Used to be called iTunes remote
Reviewed By: Bryan on 6/24/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Once you figure it out the keys they are easy to map, and it works well with XP. The batteries lasted a couple of years.
Cons: Poor driver support for Vista, no documentation, not intuitive.
Other Thoughts: I use this device all the time while watching movies on my laptop when I exercise, and it's light enough to stick to frame of my "glider" with a small piece of velcro (most remotes are too big). There are probably better remotes out there for the money but this one does the job for me.

Pros: This little remote does exactly what the specifications and Manufacturer Product Page says it will do- nothing more, nothing less!
Do your homework befrore you buy!
Cons: It won't cook my breakfast, make my coffee, or bring me my newspaper... *snivel*
Other Thoughts: I find the negative reviews to be unfair to this product.
Expecting this product to do something it wasn't designed to do is not the fault of the product, it's the fault of consumers who don't do their homework!
Should I complain that my 1969 Volkswagon won't do 0-60 in 5 seconds?
Guess what? Keyspan-by-Tripp Lite Products makes a 64-bit remote, Model #: ER-V2, for Vista.

GREAT REMOTE

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Works perfectly with XP , easy to install easy to map , works with Vista 32 Bit , even though it is not supposed to . The description for this product lists the OS it is supposed to work with , so if it does not work with your Vista OS , that is your problem , not the devices . I was happily surprised that it worked with my Vista , but even if it had not , I would have still given it 5 eggs , because it worked with the OS that it was supposed to work with. With Vista , I did not install the CD , I simply plugged the device into a usb port , windows asked if I wanted to search the internet for device drivers , I clicked yes , it found drivers at the tripp lite website , down loaded and installed them, wala it works .
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: For the cost of this item , it is a great deal .

Poor driver support
Reviewed By: Joe on 8/28/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: On a 32 bit system it worked fine, range was decent, made even better with a third party remote using the same receiver.
Cons: Terrible driver support, no future/current proofing, it wont work on XP 64 bit, Vista, or Win7.
Other Thoughts: Leave this device in the past, the developers already did.
