RJTech Review
- Pros: This device is great for anyone that is looking for a low cost digital tuner. I took this device out of the box, plugged it in and within 5 minutes it found all of the channels that I could get in my area. It is small and I did not think that it got too hot.
- Cons: 1. The remote is not very good. There are arrows on the remote for using the setup menu that those arrows are larger that the channel buttons. Also, there is not an "Enter" button for you to press when you are done selecting the channel that you want.
2. It did make a high pitch hum, just as someone else reported. My wife did not hear it but those kind of things bother me. Not enough not to get the tuner, but enough to make we wish it was not there.
- Other Thoughts: I talked with RJTech's office in CA to see if they had a universal remote and there are no universal remotes that work with their devices. :(
I also wish that they had a display setting button on the remote that let you toggle between "Normal", "Zoom", etc... display settings. All of the new shows on ABC, NBC, etc are "letterbox" and look great but if you are watching Seinfeld, you get a black box all around your picture, turnign your 32" TV into a 27". When you use the "Zoom" setting, it looks like it should but you have to go into the setup menu to make that change. Of course, they did not ask me to review their product before for they shipped it. :)
HD Viewer
- Pros: Picture quality is very good.
Easy to setup, easy going thru menus.
- Cons: Small footprint and runs hot somewhat.
- Other Thoughts: Does not look like a high quality product, but if it keeps on working like one I am happy.

Don't waste your $$$$$$
- Pros: Supports multiple output formats.
- Cons: Can barely tune in anything for any period of time with mounted antenna or rabbit ears. High pitched wine after being on for minutes. Remote needs to be within 3 to 6 ft almost straight on to work.
- Other Thoughts: Got 2 Zenith DTT900 boxes w/government coupons. One is on mounted antenna and other is on rabbit ears. Both work 10,000 times better than RJ Tech and remote works from anywhere, any angle and no whining sound.
atsc external tuner
- Pros: Easy to set up, really pulls in weak signals, small footprint. Looks to be well made.
- Cons: Unit whistles after a few hours of use, sometimes freezes up
usually pulling ac from wall then plugging in resets it.
- Other Thoughts: I believe that the whistle is a heat problem and I am going to try running it with cover off, if this corrects the noise I will install a small fan to keep things cool.
Works fine!
- Pros: Does what you want it to do. I wanted to capture clear digital channels on my analog 32" tv that is good as new! This picks up all the MSP channels with a $6 Terk rabbit ear antenna from Amery WI. About 55 miles away from the Shorewood towers.
- Cons: Some have mentioned a high pitched hum. I heard this once, but haven't heard it since the first day. Some have mentioned high heat. I have the box on top of the TV next to the Antenna. I have not had any need to get close to the TV so cannot confirm its temperature.
- Other Thoughts: I was in NTSC mode with the componenent cables in use and the TV had a magenta hue. Only when I figured out that I needed to be in ATSC mode did the color problem correct itself.
