Sounds good - okay surround
- Pros: Looks very clean and high quality. Good highs and mids, decent base. Music/movies/TV all sound good, much better then TV speakers. It does the center, and front left/right channels great, surround channels sound a little weak.
I was concerned about the whine sound mentioned in another review, but I don't have that issue. Maybe he has a defective unit. Even at low volumes, mine sounds nice.
- Cons: Surround sound effect is no where near as strong as with a true 5.1 systems, but it I expected as much with a system like this. I don't know if other surround bars create a more impressive surround sound, but I would expect it to be common with this method of speaker setup.
- Other Thoughts: Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. The room I'm using it in would be a pain to wire up (and have look good) with full surround. While not as good as a full surround system, it audio quality sounds as good as my living room full 6.1 surround system, with just weaker sound surround effects.
constant power noise during operation
- Pros: good for those that don't want to have to deal with a receiver or other A/V equipment
- Cons: CONSTANT power whine during operation - horrible - will be returning this! thought I would get away with not buying another receiver and speakers for the bedroom but this has proved to me that this just isn't possible.
- Other Thoughts: can't recommend this product to anyone that will be listening to anything at a moderate volume.
Good sound - not much surround
- Pros: -Easy set up.
-Beautiful enclosure.
-Clean mid-range properties.
-Much better sound than television speakers.
-Good overall mid and high frequency sound for a small room.
-Good value, for what it truly is.
- Cons: -Base response is disappointing, in my opinion.
-Simulated surround sound simply does not come across and I tried multiple sound sources and placements of the speaker.
- Other Thoughts: Excellent buying experience from Newegg. I will be a repeat customer and encourage others.
