Great Head Unit
- Pros: Great iPod connectivity, allowing for control via the iPod or through the Head Unit.. Sounds great and looks great too, remote control is a bit unnecessary but I'm not complaining.. ;)
- Cons: Can't continuously scroll the song title, but really that's no big deal at all.. The menus can be a tad bit confusing, but really there isn't that much to them..
- Other Thoughts: Pioneer is a great name, and they really did well with this piece..
The Bomb!
- Pros: It's cheap, it functions well, it looks good in the dash, its face detaches, and it controls the ipod.
- Cons: The complete title of the song cannot be seen because the song titles (or artists' names) do not scroll.
- Other Thoughts: For the price, this unit in unbeatable.
Seems Parralel?
- Pros: So I'm not the most Avid Auto Electronics guy, but I installed this myself as an upgrade from the deh 1400 that came in my 98 Dodge neon because I needed something with either I-pod support or an aux input (this has both).
Easy Installation, with help of the Internet.
It works well, has a great range of volume and equalizer settings, as well and hundreds of other settings I will probably fiddle with and then have to search the internet for the defaults.
under a hundred and arrived next day using free shipping.
- Cons: The controls are infinitely less simple than the old DEH 1400. At the age of 19 I shouldn't feel nostalgic for old tech yet.
While I do like that it has I-pod integration, a simple USB port upfront would have been easier than running a cable down through my ashtray.
- Other Thoughts: The cd player seems ripped right from my deh1400, no better, no worse, but hey, it's a cd player.
Overall, this head unit does what it advertises, and I suppose does it well. For under a hundred shipped... Thats all you really need, right?
