Outstanding Product at a Good Price
- Pros: A very "musical" subwoofer - excellent, tight and complementary bass, not just loud thunderous "movie" bass (but it can do that too if you want it to).
Compact size - fits anywhere.
Nice appearance - much better than the other brand which has a cheap fake wood-grain texture under the black finish.
No obtrusive cooling fins on the back.
- Cons: I'm really nitpicking here - sharp pointed legs leave lasting depressions in carpet. I solved that easily by making small round wood pads for under the pointed legs.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this subwoofer to go with my new Mitsubishi LT52149 TV which has the new built-in Sound Projector (I also got the TV at Newegg). What a great team. The Polk PSW111 complements that sound system perfectly.
Even though my room is quite large, the Polk provides more than adequate bass that can be controlled through the tv and/or with the volume knob on the back side of the subwoofer.
I also hook the Polk up to my stereo system for music. It's sound is so much cleaner and tighter than my very expensive M&K subwoofer which has now been relegated to the basement for storage.
I'm very happy with the Polk PSW111 and with Newegg (good price - fast shipping - excellent communication).
small thing packs a punch!
- Pros: This Sub is amazing!
-it's compatibly with almost every type of receiver
-Small,can be placed in any spot (in my case under my bed) very convenient
- looks can be deceiving, this thing is packing a punch!
-150 watts (average) - 300 watts is amazing!
if you are looking for something that is small and can be very loud, it's all here!
- Cons: i have not had any problems with it so far
- Other Thoughts: you might want to turn it up on your receiver first before you judge how loud it can get. my receiver wanted it to be very quiet for some reason when i used the mic setup on it.
Also very important!!! when i say it can be very loud, don't crank it. if you have it to loud you can damage it. But that also goes for anything.
