Polk's Monitor Series has been the gold standard of speakers since the 1970's. This current generation features clear, accurate sound with strong bass and exception aural imaging. Polk made the enclosures to dampen case resonance. They've also included ¾" thick baffles to help produce clear lifelike sound.
The dual 5.25" cones are made from a bi-laminate composite for an optimal balance of weight and rigidity. The small driver delivers a wide open sound and exceptional responsiveness. The 1" tweeter is a fabric/polymer composite which responds swiftly to the high efficiency Neodymium magnet. The crossovers between the drivers use Mylar bypass capacitors to let all of the details in the higher frequencies shine through.
No matter how good they sound, they have to look good, too. Their contemporary look compliments today's flat panel televisions and modern decorating styles. They're magnetically shielded so you can place them near your electronics. The slim design takes up less than one square foot.

Great for a Small Room
- Pros: Excellent sound for the money.
- Cons: Their sound is transparent and very clean, but begins to get muddy at a relatively low volume (for me.) A loud choral passage picks this up. Turn the volume up to concert-hall level and the voices become a distorted jumble. Turn the volume down slowly and suddenly the voices become clear and distinct. Fortunately, that level is good enough for most listening by me, and too loud for my wife. I would not recommend these for home theater in a large room (over 300 sq. ft.), however.
- Other Thoughts: I am happy with these. They are 5 1/4" speakers, after all. They look and sound great in our bedroom, and the price was right, but they just don't compare with my big Infinity Beta speakers downstairs. I am now willing to watch a movie on our new flat-panel set in the bedroom, as my wife requested.
Great, affordable speakers
- Pros: Look nice, sound great, affordable price - polk audio has always proven themselves as great speakers to me.

- Other Thoughts: Great home theater speakers. I'm sure there are better but not for the price. Look nice and sound great. Newegg has the lowest price around for these and their shipping is awesome as always.
Would recommend for an entry to immediate system. Figure I'll use these for a couple years as front speakers then upgrade to a higher class of polk speakers and use these as a great surround sound set.

I don't think you will be dissappointed
- Pros: For the money, this is a really good speaker. I gave it 5-stars based on cost and quality. Even If you are an audiophile I think you will respect them. High end is smooth and lower frequencies seem to have a decent drive. I'm pushing mine with a low cost $100 amp, and they are great for watching TV and Movies. I have them turned out a few degrees to bounce sound off the wall which seems to be working quite well.

- Other Thoughts: If you are an audiophile, you would likely rate these speakers at 3.7 stars, adjusted to 4.3 for the reasonable cost.
- Pros: Excellent sound for me. I mainly watch movies and play games on a PS3. I think they sound very good. I also bought the CS1 center speaker to match. I mixed them with 4 smaller Polk speakers from the RM6750 series. They're not bad for music but sound better with movies.
