Pros: Got this for $50. You can't get a better deal for a bluetooth device with iPod interface, handsfree, fm transmitter and display screen.
Can be installed into the car to hide all the wires. If you are into installing ICE (in car entertainment) this is the easiest setup ever.
Microphone works pretty well even with aftermarket exhaust.
built in speaker works well.
Can sync to multiple phones... great if you share your car with other people.
Cons: The screen polarization on the screen is in the wrong direction. So if you have polarized sunglasses, the screen will look black!!!!!!!
voice dialing doesn't work with WM 6.5
There were some incompatibility problems with WM 6.5 on my HTC. It was partially fixed with Jetware mobile 1.4 BT extensions. After that, the phonebook, and dialing problems went away.
AVRCP seems to work on a BB, but not windows mobile. Still no fix for that.
bluetooth connections are flakey sometimes regardless of what phone you have. So you'll find that sometimes you have to reset the alpine ex10 to get it to connect to both handfree and a2dp features.
Other Thoughts: It would be nice if the "brain" had rca outputs for an amp.
The menu system is a little laggy... but it's not that bad.
There are only 6 wires (mic, screen, power, antenna, ipod, aux-out). It seems like it was designed to be installed, but made as a "plugin" device as an afterthought.
remote is lightweight and feels flimsy... but it seems like it will last a while. Don't lose it!... without it, your ex10 is useless.
Great value at $50...

Pros: This thing does everything I wanted and more, which is impressive considering the price you can now get it for. Nice crisp screen. Aux out. Hear phone conversations through car speakers. Great bluetooth functionality. Turns on and off automatically when you start and shut off your car, assuming your cigarette adaptor isn't one that stays on all the time.
Cons: Screen is a bit small. It takes a few seconds to load album art, during which time you cannot advance the track. Remote is a bit flimsy. Navigation is not as easy as it would be directly with the iPod's click wheel.
Other Thoughts: Overall very satisfied with this purchase. The wires, while there are many, are easily hidden in a center console. Installation is not difficult if you have a place to hide wires.
