Pros: You can hardly call this a desktop. Actually, it comes with a bracket so you can attach it to the back of an LCD Flat Screen Monitor. The specs for XP operating system are just fine. A great unit if you want to avoid VISTA and are just going to use it for email and internet searches. Don't rely on this as your "workhorse" computer, but rather as a good back up or extra unit for other family members. It comes with MS Works (does not include MS Word). If you need to go back and forth in Word occasionally, a "workaround" is possible without buying the MS Word software.
Cons: You need to have a full understanding of what you want and what you want the computer to do.
Other Thoughts: You can find comparable entry level units (I saw an e-Machines at Walmart with comparable specs and Windows XP for the same price, for example) but if size matters, this is a great unit. I have it on top of the desk next to an old 19" monitor and printer-scanner. Bottom line, cons are minimal.

Pros: cheap, preloaded ready to roll, portable, did I mention cheap, solid construction, great mouting for rear of LCD monitor, does all the basics very well
Cons: not real powerful but hey, less than $300 what do you expect
Other Thoughts: its a great little box - i strapped it to my Hanng-G 19" monitor and, boom, instant portable pc. i might load linux on it and see if i can get more performance from it!

Almost, But Not Quite

Pros: 5 eggs for general computing like internet, email, spreadsheets, word processing, music streaming, picture viewing, etc. Boots fast. No crapware. Small, quiet, and stays cool to the touch. More than enough computer for casual users.
Cons: 3 eggs for video streaming over the internet. It's too bad that Intel decided to pair the Atom with their GMA950 video processor. Will not play hi def streams from Hulu. Even standard def stutters a little. I believe the GMA950 will only share a maximum of 128mb of system memory.
Other Thoughts: I bought this in the hopes that it would be a media center extender on steroids. It's not a whole lot more expensive than the Linksys or similar extenders. I have a few more TVs that I want to outfit but I'll wait until they improve the video performance before I buy another. As Maxwell Smart would say, "missed by that much"
