5 out of 5 eggsAwesome LCD for the money!

Pros: The bought this TV on sale for $xxx and very happy with it. Great picture, the tuner is awesome and picks up about 25 digital HD stations with only a regular TV antenna. Contrast is very good and looks as good as TV's with supposed higher ratios. Good HD sound from tv speakers, good bass level. A good amount of hookups for inputs (though, see below for one thing missing). Picture looks pretty good when hooked up to laptop via SVideo cable. Star Wars and other movies with high contrast look awesome on the TV. The preset settings for Sports is actually really close to what it should be making switching to NFL game really quick and painless.

Cons: No VGA or DVI so I'll have to get a scaler or converter to go between laptop VGA port and TV. But this is not a huge deal considering it does do a decent job with SVideo. I don't like the controller / menus design. The reason is that with local HD tv the color has to be changed a lot between stations and also dvd so it takes too many steps to get the adjustments. buttons are not in logical places.

Other Thoughts: Overall this was a great purchase and I am glad I got this one, the newer model has the DVI but the cost increase is not justified.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad, Not too Great

Pros: Lots of Ports, can have loads of stuff hooked up at once. Auto Channel Search function very nice, searching both digital and analog at same time. Hooked a 360 up with GEARS of War - Unbelievable, even with the noted CON. HD Games rock.

Cons: Ghosting rampant when I bought it, people tried to convince it was me. However, it wasn't. But Sharp sends people out to look at the screen, so in a week Picture should be A+++. Right now, picture sucks, hope it will get better. Old console games not so great either, ghosting, but hope this will improve a bit with the Repair.

Other Thoughts: For the money and the 1 year manufacturers warranty, where they come to your house, and this is extendable, well worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent...up to a certain point..

Pros: Movie viewing on this thing is a great experience, Beautiful picture, Deep blacks, Loads of inputs especially 2 HDMI inputs. For the price, this is *the* LCD to get if you don't need to hook up a computer to it.

Cons: No DVI or VGA inputs. This is a big warning to MythTV users who think they can use an DVI to HDMI cable here. Minor note: Mine arrived with a single dead pixel.

Other Thoughts: As of today, there is no fix to remedy the overscan (picture larger than than the screen displays) issues on this LCD when using X-windows. I bought this hoping a flawless implementation with my MythTV box but the overscan issues prevent it from being perfect. I can't see my taskbar or the top of my screen when in X but I was able to tweak MythTV to fit within the screen. As long as I stay in MythTV, It looks great. I have to note that using Powerstrip on a windows box allowed me to beat the overscan but the performance of my 7800GTX card was abysmal at the supported resolution (tested using Neverwinter Nights 2). Very choppy. I haven't bought one of those 8800GTXs yet so I can tell if it's the card or the screen. I can't comment on how it is with a console either since I dont' have one.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome TV!

Pros: Bright, vibrant colors. Amazing HD picture quality. Despite what N/A said, I have played many Xbox 360 games on this TV and they do not have any ghosting at all. This includes fast-paced FPS games like Call Of Duty 2.

Cons: The built-in speakers aren't that great, and could be way better. 10 watts just isn't very loud, and the sound quality is only mediocre.

Other Thoughts: Very good TV for the money - just make sure you get a home theater audio setup to go with it.

3 out of 5 eggsWarning: Only buy if you love ghosting

Pros: Great picture quality for movies.

Cons: Do not use if you plan on gaming with this. Despite it having a 6ms response time, the ghosting on this tv is horrible. I get headaches just watching it.
