The SHARP AQUOS Black 52" LC-52D62U will knock your socks off, setting new standards for large-screen flat-panel TVs. With a line-up of highly impressive features, its Full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution provides the sharpest possible picture. The 16:9 ASV LCD Panel has a native Contrast Ratio of 2000:1 and a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 10,000:1, with enhanced picture technology for unparalleled picture quality.
The 4ms Response Time all but eliminates image artifacts and blurring, letting you enjoy all the action in sports and movies in vivid detail. The enhanced Black Level offers the deepest, most accurate black of any LCD-TV and the Four-wavelength Backlight System gives very deep crimson reds. This TV uses the next generation of Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View/Black TFT Panel Multi-Pixel Technology, for beautifully improved color reproduction at the widest angles.
It splits each pixel into two segments and adds an advanced driving system. You can place the TV anywhere, even near doors or windows, and still get bright and clear cut images. The AQUOS LC-52D62U comes with built-in ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners, 2 HDMI inputs and 2 sets of HD component video inputs. With the stand and speakers, it measures 49.73" x 34.22" x 12.17" and weighs 90.4 lbs.
Pros: This TV is amazing. I've displayed HD-DVD in 1080p as well as PC in 1080p and no matter what I do, it just looks incredible. Microsoft has plenty of 1080 material if you search for "WMV HD Content Showcase". I have a 46" on the way also. I expect it will look as amazing as this one does. Well done Sharp!!!
Cons: Not a major issue, but after having moved it from one location to another, I noticed a series of slightly visible horizontal lines in the screen. Looks like maybe one of the lamps came loose or something. Called Sharp, waited on hold for 30 mins for them to tell me that they have received that complaint, however are not sure how to resolve it. (More...)
Other Thoughts: (Continued...) Sharp insisted that I not return the unit to the store, Yeah, OK. Replacement unit looks amazing, and no more problems. Only thing I can think of is...transported it in truck face down. Maybe that caused something to come loose. Don't make my mistake! Otherwise, EXCELLENT TV! Sharp customer service sucks. They need a lesson from NewEgg!!!!

OUTSTANDING

Pros: Put this together with a HD movie or even a widescreen DVD and you won't be dissapointed. Granted you will have to set all or most settings to your liking but once set correctly you won't be wanting to return to a small screen again.
Cons: None for the TV, Shipping was the only problem. This item has to go through a freight carrier due to it's size and weight. As with some carriers, they have your product and they are not to concerned as when they get your tiem to you. I had to take a day off to sign for this item. My shipping cost went from 99 dollars to over 390 dollars since I missed work to sign for this. The company will not deliver to anyone during the weekend nor will they try to work with you on what time of day other than they tell you a window on when it should be there. Newegg I strongly recommend you look for a new freight carrier that will deliver on the weekend as I will not be ordering any item that Fedex or UPS cannot deliver. In short I lost 293 dollars the day I received this item due to the fact I had to miss work to sign for it and they would not delviver when I could sign for it which was after 4 PM.
Other Thoughts: As faras the TV goes, THIS thing is outstanding. Very happy customer when it comes to the TV itself. If your looking for a largescreen LCD TV, you cannot go wrong with this purchase. By the way, save yourself some gas. Newegg's price is way way cheaper than CIR*** CI** or Bes*B** or any other store and is pretty much one of the lowest online stores when it comes to this TV.

Excellent TV

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Excellent, crisp picture. Price is good for the quality.
Cons: Sound quality could be better, but I'm using an external A/V Receiver now. I wish there were more HDMI inputs, but has a similar amount to competing products.
Other Thoughts: I was a bit worried having a TV at this price shipped to me when newegg doesn't allow returns. However, it arrived and works flawlessly.

Cons: Controls are on TOP of the TV... kind of awkward. The aspect controls are a little different. Bit of a delay on switching inputs. The "1000:1 Contrast Ratio" is actually a bit annoying. The real contrast ratio, i believe, is 2000:1. The other thing just dims your screen everytime there is more dark then bright on the screen. Basically, it makes your screen darker when it thinks it should be darker... even if it shouldn't.
Other Thoughts: Would purchase it again if I had a do-over.

Pros: 100% Perfect picture right out of the box. I have no dead pixels after 6 months of 24/7 use. But there are times when I have to adjust brightnes and other settings to get a better brighter picture also the auto, light adjust dont work that well. And all you gamers this TV is very fast all my games look great PC, X360, PS3, Wii all of my systems look wonderful. Even with all my problems I still love this TV I hope it will last a few years anyway goodluck.
Cons: After a couple day of owening this TV I got up one morning to turn on the news and it would not power on. I tried unplugging and everything it had direct cable hookup so there was no way another componet was the fault. So before I went to pull it off the wall I tried it one more time and it worked WOW was I in SHOCK!!!
Other Thoughts: well a couple months after that I turned the set on and the channel numbers and the settings nothing would work I tried turning up the Volume and changing channels nothing worked it would go on and off thats it so I was freaking out again I didn't want to send this thing back it so darn big well a few hours later it started working again this TV has a mind of it's own I would buy closer to home next time even though NEWEGG ROCKS!!!

Would be a great TV if it weren't for banding issues
Reviewed By: on 3/11/2008
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Beautiful picture, acceptable contrast ratio, will accept 1080p on both hdmi inputs, works with linux/mythtv with the right modeline settings.
Cons: Beware of banding! I was fully aware of this issue before I bought. I'm extremely picky when it comes to things like this though. Because of the potential issues, I purchased from a local retailer with a very generous return policy. I'm glad I did. I'm on set number 3 right now. The first set had 3 distinct vertical bands. The second set had 7-8 distinct horizontal bands. The third has faint horizontal bands. It's much better than the first two, though. It's minor enough that I've decided to live with it.
Other Thoughts: If you're picky about picture quality issues like banding, I'd think twice about purchasing this set. If you do, I'd recommend buying it from somewhere with a good return policy. As much as I swear by newegg, I'm glad I bought this locally, which made returning it much easier.
