Solid Buy
- Pros: Very good bang for the buck. i have a HTPC with BR hooked up and i use it for HD satellite service in my living room. BR is phenomenal. I have been very pleased since i bought mine on black friday (from Dell). I still watch prices and i think this is a solid buy
- Cons: Only 2 HDMI ports. not an issue for me as i only need two for now. My HTPC would also make it flash off like the other reviewers 360, but once i set my graphics card to 24HZ and the TVs native resolution, all was resolved. this is only a 24hz TV, so know that going in. i can't say if the blanking out is the same issue as for the 360, but it seemed to be. Don't know if you can set the 360 output or not.
- Other Thoughts: I work for a very large healthsystem and the corporate video conference guys use this exact tv and recommended Sharp generally because they make their own stuff and are durable.
LC46SB54U
- Pros: Great Picture, good black levels for a bargain LCD.
- Cons: If you are going to be hooking up a 360 don't buy this TV. I have a U model, not sure what the exact differences are but my xbox playing at 1080p 1080i blinks at random intervals. It's a known issue with the TV but Sharp gives the run around and doesn't have a fix for it yet.
- Other Thoughts: I didn't buy this TV from newegg, I got it from Sears, I buy most of my electronics from here though.
SharpUSA Customer support is terrible, avoid them at all costs. I should have bought the 40 inch Sony I wanted instead of going with more screen realestate. DOH!
Great TV at a great price
- Pros: I have only have had the TV a few days and I must say out of the HD TV's I have gotten thus far this is by far the best looking one I have. I have played my PS3 and my Samsung 1500 Blue-Ray on it and it looks absolutely breath taking. I have mine paired with a Yamaha RX-V663BL receiver and it does a great job at up converting the quality for non high def equipment.
- Cons: None thus far.
- Other Thoughts: Just remember if you’re going from something smaller to this, have room to place it. Also HDMI cables from new egg are a must.
