Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Excellent Picture. Lots of inputs - HD, PC, video, component video, and RF inputs. Tuner works well for both digital and analog channels. Analog input looks better than my CRT set. HD input is terrific.

Cons: Tinny sound

Other Thoughts: I have had this set for about a month. I have tested it with HD cable, analog cable, and analog and digital broadcast signals. The picture quality is terrific. Football games in HD look amazing. I was afraid that analog wouldnt look good, but it looks better than my CRT set. One monor niggle about picture quality is highlight clipping at dynamic contrast or high contrast settings. It has lots of inputs and the built in tuner works very well. Sound is clear but tinny sounding. Overall very happy, this is a terrific bargain.

Great TV

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: This TV arrived in very short order. Plays my Blu Rays perfectly. All of the inputs work good. I have made this the display of my Home Theater PC. The VGA connector passes the 1920x1080 resolution w/o any problem. Channel surfing from my HDTV is quick, unlike previous Sharp models, and some other Digitally tuned TV's.

Cons: The speakers were crackly and popped right out of the box. I called Sharp and they had a technician replace the main board. He arrived within one week and now the speakers on the TV do not have any problems. They sound rather "tinny" compared to other TV's but I pass all of my audio to an AVR so no problems there.

Other Thoughts: If you are having problems with the speakers call Sharp Technical Service. They are fast, friendly, and extremely helpful.

PC input better than expected

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Haven't had a chance to use with HD cable, box isn't here yet, nor any "standard" HD components, only PC.

PC input was much better than anticipated. The manual seems to indicate that the VGA input will only support 1400x1050, but it worked well at the full 1920x1080. It actually would even down-convert from 1600x1200 enough that web pages were easily readable. Every resolution I tried (didn't try 640x480) re-sampled well when stretched to full screen. Quickly adjusts to resolution changes as well. I will be picking up either an HDMI video card or DVI-HDMI converter cable to try a direct digital connection soon.

Also quick to switch between inputs (had others take forever to cycle through inputs/tuner.)

Cons: Feature sticker (marketing label) on front left residue behind when removed. This is a general pet peave of mine when manufacturers use stickers like this when they're only going to be used on the sales floor.

Other Thoughts: Others have mentioned problems with the speakers, but I haven't tried the speakers and likely won't since this is operating as just a video monitor at this point.
