5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price was $100 plus tax lower then I could have bought it locally. No problems so far. This replaced a 36" crt, Love the space I have now. I have no problems with the 720p. The picture quality is excellent. I've been buying pc stuff from Newegg for years but this is the only tv I ever bought.

Cons: Delivery was longer then smaller items usually are.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this TV

Pros: I bought this with my refund check this year and went up from a 27 inch CD tv to this. The difference is incredible. The picture is crystal clear the menus are easy to understand/navigate and playing 360 games on this just wipes away the picture difference from my old SD tv. Bright colors and sharp images/text.

Cons: None. This is the BEST tv for the price.

Other Thoughts: Okay I am a gamer and bought this for gaming. While my 360 and PS3 look incredible in HD my older systems do not. All my PS2 games are very grainy and ugly. This isnt a con wich is why I am writing it here. Dont buy this or really any HDTV and expect to have your old systems work well with them because that is just not how it works.

5 out of 5 eggs42 Samsung

Pros: I bought this TV from newegg, awesome shipping "4 days" no taxes, no shipping charges. Best deal around. I have it hooked up to digital cable and HD is flawless, i will definetly buy another samsung and would recommend it to anyone looking for a tv in this ballpark. I also have a 37 inch LCD and the plasma puts it to shame with coloring and clarity.

Cons: The sound is good for tv but movies need surround sound for sure. Very happy with this new purchase thus far

Other Thoughts: 1080 p is not worth the money unless you have a blue ray player

5 out of 5 eggsIgnore the blind guy - again

Pros: Excellent rich color, better in many ways than the Viera it competes with. Blacks are average, look good during actual film, disappoint in fade to black. Sound is above average for casual viewing - exactly as it needs to be - but not for high volume. Display -easily- aligns to D65 spec (check AVSForum, the 50" version for settings that mimic ISF calibration).

Cons: 1024 res for PC use is a bit cramped. brightness 'shift' in grey-sky screens occasionally. Solarization in 1-10 frames of extremely dark scenes on certain movies is irritating (possibly a firmware fix, but don't depend on it).

Other Thoughts: The blind reviewer is exactly that, if you check on Azon, you'll find nearly the same review, and it's not correct there either. His review of any visual item is always low, saying the colors are awful. There, he claims to have brought in someone to ISF the display and that the 'engineer' told him that D65 was impossible on the Sammy. Not sure what his burr is, but you can safely ignore anything that he says, IMHO.

2 out of 5 eggs"Blind" Consumerism, taken literally

Pros: One of the cleanest Standard Def 720p upscalers around. Otherwise, strictly for gamers who enjoy Torch Mode and lots of Really Red Blood.

Cons: My dad-in-law got it from NewEgg, great price, perfect shipping, he likes it (he's color blind, not to mentjon half-deaf) but I can't stand watching it. Worst tv color I ever saw. Not even an ISF engineer can fix it, at any price. Even with 20-plus picture controls, impossible to get a clean gray scale or anything near D65 standard color. Really schizo contrast control, gamma drops to near zero above IRE60. I measured contrast ratio at about 430:1, not bad, typical for HDTV. Another owner mentioned "great blacks", obviously can't tell black from purple. Julia Roberts with olive-green skin and pink teeth? Morgan Freeman looks Egyptian and Miss Daisy looks like a purple corpse with cyan hair. Puleeeez! Red and Blue are pushed so hard the color decoder errors leap right out at you, but game addicts will slobber lovingly over this kind of distortion. Classic b&w movies look fabulous on this creature, better than Pioneer. But the color is bizarre.

Other Thoughts: I've seen 3 of this model in 3 homes. All have the same weird color. Give digital displays another 10 years to mature. NewEgg = good price, tho.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Buy

Pros: I have owned this plasma tv for more than 2 years now. Excellent picture, games look amazing. Did I say picture is EXCELLENT. Stunning colors. When i bought it i paid more than double what newegg is charging now. Definitely would buy again, Best TV I have ever owned.

Cons: Screen burn in works, but could be more. Cant leave the tv on even with screen saver enabled (using as a monitor) After leaving the tv on for awhile, you have to go into menu and clear the screen with the all white function. After that everything is fine.

Other Thoughts: For my first plasma tv I couldnt have asked for more. As I mentioned before, I would definitely buy again. For the price it will be hard to beat, and 42" definitely gets the job done.

4 out of 5 eggsGood TV, GREAT PRICE!

Pros: I picked this up locally for 850 dollars, for that price it can't be beat. The picture is great, and the contrast is AWESOME! Deep blacks and great colors. This is another great Samsung product.

Cons: There is only 1 composite input, not 2. For most people that wouldn't matter, but I wanted to hook up original xbox and wii, and i have to swap them right now.

Other Thoughts: The composite doesn't matter as much now that i found a hiding HDMI port on my cable box, so I'm just going to hook up my xbox360 and my xbox via component (currently cable + 360, and swapping the xbox and wii). My 360 is so old that it doesn't have the HDMI port :'(
