1 out of 5 eggsGarbage! Avoid at all cost!

Pros: Good price
Looks good (while it works)

Cons: Does not fit standard TV mounts
Stops turning on after a few months
Terrible warranty service and customer support

Other Thoughts: I purchased this TV in August, and it completely died in late-February. Viewsonic's customer support is a joke, but if you call enough times, you'll find the one helpful person who works there. After I finally got the RMA number, I found out that Viewsonic wanted me to cover both sides of the shipping expenses. After some tinkering with the TV, I managed to get it to turn on. But, get this: somehow the V-Chip protection was enabled, and there's no function to reset it or turn it off! Now my 32" HDTV is limited to G rated programming. Horrible, just horrible.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget LCD

Pros: HDMI, built-in hd tuner, VGA (great for watching videos from my laptop), fairly high brightness, no dead or stuck pixels after 6 months.

Cons: As with all cheaper LCD's, smooth color gradients have visible color steps (think underwater scenes in u571, or the grayish skies in Gladiator). This is only noticeable if you're looking for it though, not bad enough to draw your attention from the movie. Remote/sensor not very powerful for me. Not sure if this is the TV but artifacts appear on edges and cornes of everything while using an N64 on this TV.

Other Thoughts: Great for movies/games with lots of color contrast. other reviews claimed the remote is 'really long' but it's no longer than any of my other ones. If you have any older DVD's that are 'widescreen' but are actually encoded as fullscreen the TV cannot zoom to fix this, so I recommend buying a DVD player with a custom zoom feature to go with this TV. I never use the speakers so i can't say anything about those.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Good TV and surprisingly good for comp monitor. Fuzzy w/o HD

Cons: Refuses to turn on about 40% of the time after being off over night and I have to unplug and replug it back in. Sometimes when I turn it on it has green lines all over and i have to turn it off and on again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV

Pros: Looks great with the Xbox 360, and PC using VGA out, the wii looks as good as a wii can look too!

The remote works great for me, i programmed my MCE remote to turn the tv on/off and how to use the volume control in about 10seconds.

It even took a wiimote to the screen, and the paint from the wiimote came off with a little bit of water, resilient!

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsDead after 13 months

Pros: Crisp picture, good color when it worked.

Cons: Dead after 13 months, slow source switching, gray-ish blacks.

Other Thoughts: Viewsonic does not offer repair services if this unit dies. Make sure you know somewhere local that repairs LCD sets before purchasing.

5 out of 5 eggsOverall a good choice

Pros: price After reading reviews I got skeptical. But most reviewers were nitpicking.

Cons: displaying deep blacks is this displays weakness but not a fault. this displays biggest weakness is my dishpvr remote won't control the television.

Other Thoughts: I gave it a 5 eggs because they don't offer 4 and a half. I would have deducted the half egg for the remote issue. Just remember, this is not a $3000 display, but it is a great place to start.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Monitor / Very Good HDTV

Pros: Excellent HDTV Picture. No dead pixels. No ghosting from computer or sports channel. I don't have a game system hooked up, so I can't say what they might do, but my computer is cutting edge. Setup is fairly simple. Lots of inputs. Great as a computer monitor. It plays well with DVD Players too. Big, big, big.

Cons: The AIR (antenna) input needs to be reactivated every time the TV is turned on. I have 2 of these units, so I know it's not just a defective unit. It doesn't need to have the automatic channel scan run, just "switched" on in the setup menu. The remote changes the channels slowly. It's not too bad, but if you are a chronic channel surfer and aren't going to use a Cable Box, this could get annoying. When you first turn on the TV, there is a 30 second delay before you can change channels, or access the setup menu. If you shut it off on anything other than the cable TV input, you won't be able to see anything until you turn the channel and go to the setup menu to activate the "AIR" input.

Other Thoughts: I love the sleep timer, but I wish it had a timer for turning ON. For the money this is a fantastic HDTV or Computer monitor. My setup for one of the TV's is with unscrambled cable (up to channel 100) and "over the air channels" (about 30) which include about 15 HD broadcast stations. Get a good amplified HDTV Antenna and save yourself the cost of a cable subscription/box.

5 out of 5 eggsOne year and counting. Great so far!

Pros: I appreciate the look of this TV -- mostly black.
The HD digital cable channels are stunning -- especially football, baseball, basketball.
I've had very reliable service from this unit, with absolutely no problems.
I paid over $900 for this TV in January 2006, but it was worth every penny.
I like the panels that come off to reveal the connections on the back of the TV, then go back into place, keeping the wires at least somewhat organized.
In a room with lots of windows, I get no glare on the screen.

Cons: I really haven't found any, but I'm not an audiophile, nor am I particularly techy about anything but computers (not into Ipod, MP3s, etc., TIVO. Give me a DVD player, digital cable, and I'm happy enough.

Other Thoughts: I have a very, very small living room, about 12x14, with the couch and the TV on opposite sides of the 12 foot walls, and the flat panel TV footprint is a godsend for this tiny room. I just got a Bose 3.2.1 system for surround sound and am looking forward to watching more movies, now with better sound.

5 out of 5 eggsNice TV

Pros: HD tuner is crystal clear. Picture is very nice. Biggest computer monitor I have. Nice TV.

Cons: Box was almost destroyed upon delivery. It was obviously dropped on the side. Looked like an accordian. TV works great with no problems. Broken piece of plastic wedged under the lcd screen but I cant figure out where it came from.

Other Thoughts: You cant beat the price.
