Pros: This TV was an awesome deal for 489 (now 550), much cheaper than worstbuy and anything I could find on craigslist. It's mounted right above the fireplace and has an awesome picture.
Cons: 1 dead pixel but my friends can't find it unless I point it out to them and I can’t see it when I’m more then a couple feet away.
When I got the tv for said price the warranty was eighty bucks for 2 years with no option for a 4 year warranty, now there is a 4 year warranty option and it's only 90 bucks
Also according to neweggs’ warranty, TV's below five hundred can only be replaced once (after manufacture's warranty expires and it only gets replaced if it can't be repaired), as with TV's above the five hundred mark, do not have that same detail.
Other Thoughts: When you get this kind of TV at the price I did, don’t complain about the stuff that doesn’t matter.
So what if the logo appears when I turn on the TV, it's still faster then the time it takes my DLP to turn on and become viewable
So what if the speakers aren't up to par with other thousand dollar 40" TV's, you shouldn't be using them anyways
So what if the controller doesn't work that well, it took me all of 10 seconds to program the remote verizon gave me to control the TV. It uses sony codes btw, mine was 0072 I think.
Sorry for sounding redundant with the "so whats" but REALIZE this TV is all about getting you a 40” 1080p picture and nothing else

Pros: Great Price, 1080p resolution, Bright, output settings easily adjustable, lots of inputs.
Cons: none yet...
Other Thoughts: I purchased this to use as a computer monitor. Works great, no dead pixels on arrival, and none yet (about 5 hours of use a day for the past 5 weeks) 1920x1080 resolution is great :)

Rating: 5/5Good deal
Pros: You get what you pay for. It's a good 40" 1080P LCD for the price, no doubt. Has all of the standard hook ups and looks pretty nice overall.
Cons: Stupid giant red "SCEPTRE" when you turn it on and remote is trash. But I also could have bought a Sony or Samsung for more, but hey, I'm cheap. Enough said.
Other Thoughts: This replaced a 27" inch tube TV, so it's definitely an upgrade.

Rating: 4/5Great for the money
Pros: great price for the size, (almost)easy set up, connections are easy to understand, picture is good
Cons: remote is TERRIBLE, sound is good no tv, horrible with a pulgged in device, instructions are NOT first time user friendly.
Other Thoughts: I was so excited when i got this that i skipped dinner and rushed to open it up like a kid on xmas... my excitment was quickly tempered when i tried to understand the instructions and realized they are not for a first time HDTV user... it took me a bit longer to get it running then i am used to.
you will want to buy a universal remote for this one, the remote it comes with is full of problems (example: hit menu, it turned off) and the speakers are good for tv and yet have a really bad echo when using my Blu-Ray player.
but all in all, i am happy with my purchase! i wanted to rate it higher, but the remote REALLY furstrated me.

Rating: 4/5Great TV, Great Price!!!
Pros: Great price, picture, and very easy setup!
Cons: Speakers arent great, but definately good enough. Remote is "challenging", and it would be nice if there was more than one component hookup, and more than one AV.
Other Thoughts: So, I got it for 450, got the additional 2 year warrenty, well worth the piece of mind. So for 530, this is a GREAT deal!

Rating: 5/5nice lcd
Pros: -40 inches -good price -inputs -shipping box/ durable -price -1080p -rich colors -hdtv/ is fast when cycling through channels. i don't like to wait lol -4.5 ms -black is black
Cons: -shiny black trim, i prefer flat black but it still looks great. -one dead pixel -the top trim is warped in a couple spots and the shiny trim just makes it more noticeable. i don't know if the tight packaging is to blame or shipping cause i know that if they shipped the lcd flat and build a wall on top of it well the box is designed to ship wupright. anyway i am just sayin. -remote is cheap -the speakers sound like garbage lol. need surround for sure.
Other Thoughts: i may try and send it back, the warped and a little be scratched trim really bugs me so i don"t know what i will do yet.

Rating: 4/5Great TV for the Money
Pros: Great Price, great picture. Best TV of it's size for the Money I could find from online and Brick and Mortar stores. I like the first one I bought in December so much I bought another one for my game room.
Cons: The only really bad thing I have to say about this TV is the remote. It feels cheap and you have to move it around to get it to perform the functions you want. I intend to replace the factory remote with a universal remote to see if I get better performance. The only other nit noid thing is if you have a lot of older devices that connect with RCA cables is that it only have one RCA input. I solved this by buying a $15 video switcher at Target.
Other Thoughts: All in all, I am very satisfied and buying from Newegg is always a breeze.

Pros: Nice design. Great picture quality. A lot of video ports. Stunning 1080p picture & video quality while connected to the desktop PC through VGA. Really inexpensive.
Cons: One dead pixel on arrival. Cheap remote. Even while using high-end programmable remote the remote needs to aim directly to the left side of the TV to respond.
Other Thoughts: Sound isn't great but isn't terrible neither. Reading the reviews I expected the speakers to be a bit better than the ones installed in cellphones. In fact they are not that bad. Since after I adjusted bass and treble the sound is more than acceptable.

Pros: Good TV while it worked. picture was satisfactory and the inputs worked just fine. Even the sound quality was enough for me but no the highest quality around.
Cons: After 48 days of owning the TV while watching a movie the TV began making a blaring tone. I attempted to turn it off by the button but I ended up having to unplug it. The Sceptre has not turned on ever again. Apparently someone's elses TV died exactly 48 days after owning it as well so maybe if yours lasts longer than you are in the clear.
Other Thoughts: Will be buying a higher name brand to ensure quality in my next purchase. This can be a good purchase you are just taking a big risk in doing so.
