Eggcellent Buy
- Pros: This is a really good TV, no doubt. It's a great plasma for someone who wants a good quality television that won't conk out 2 years after you buy it. It's pretty solid, too (made of of metal instead of plastic!). This television is NOT for an audio/videophile.
Strong points: Sharp picture, user-friendly menus, good color display, lot's of connections (but who has more than 3 HDMI capable devices anyway? come on!), blacks are FAR better on this set than a Samsung or other competing brand. Finally, as with all HDTVs, the image extremely crisp and vivid.
You will not notice a difference in this size of television between 720p and 1080p at this size class. Save $$$ and get 720p, regular images/video will not be affected, only text will (car/drug commercial fine print is slightly pixilated). Text in PS3 (and 360) is still fine, even when using the PS3's web browser. I have seen the 1080p version of this telvision next to this one, the difference is imperceptible.
- Cons: This TV is great for people with Average technical knowledge- it just does it's job out of the box. However, if you are looking for a top notch (perfect blacks, no color banding what-so-ever, extremely real color) you will be ever so slightly disappointed with this set. I'm NOT talking to those who are just putting this in their TV/living room, I'm talking about if you are setting up an entire home theater system. (I'm looking at the videophiles in the room, not the typical consumer)
Weak-points: Color banding is present (light colors only, this set produces good blacks, but even then the banding isn't super-bad), blacks are very slightly grayish (FAR better than competing brands though)
- Other Thoughts: First off, Burn-in: It is highly unlikely it will happen to you. It's more likely in the first 200 hours, but I think that unless you spend over 4-5 hours straight watching FOX news (don't watch FOX news anyway! ;-) ) or playing a video game. If you have kids, you should make them tak 15 minute breaks ever 2 hours of play/ viewing anyway. During this time, just turn off the TV. If you have little kids, explain to them that leaving the TV on when nobody is around is bad for it, and makes it sad. Show them how to use it. If you prefer, show the kids/family how to engage the screensaver (MENU/Setup/Anti-Image Retention/Scrolling Bar).
Second, most, if not all the above flaws will be almost completely removed if you CALIBRATE your television. You can do it by yourself, but use a calibration CD/DVD/BD to set it up.
In conclusion, BUY THIS TV! It's a great deal.
**The conclusions above were derived after watching several hours of Planter Earth on Blu-Ray through my PS3(H
sweetspot
- Pros: This is one sweet TV. This thing made our new living room fun again. Wii games look great. Kids love it. My wife loves her cooking shows in high def now. 720p vs 1080p thing is no big deal. This plasma looks awesome in 720p on everything we throw at it from upconverted DVDs, ATT uverse, and Blue Ray discs. Black is really black on this tv unlike some of the LCD tvs and their black is really a shade of grey. Plenty of connections. Input labels are great for the kids and less tech savy in the house...hit the input button and scroll to the labeled input you need to play "game" or watch "cable" or watch "DVD". My 5 year old can change inputs on this TV. Our living room has two large skylights and they reflect very little on the glass compared to our old CRT TV.
- Cons: Contrast ratio of 15,000 to 1 is ok. I almost went with the 1080p models of Panasonic just for the better contrast ratio.
I will calibrate this one later and see if it helps out any. No biggie really. It still looks great.
- Other Thoughts: Really good deal in the plasma tv market right now. Panasonic is making some great plasma tvs and this is the best one for a tight budget. I might buy one for my folks for x-mas.

Buy This TV!
- Pros: I started researching this TV many months ago. I looked at several different brands, LCD, Plasma, 720p, and 1080i. Price and performance kept bringing me back to this Panny. It has amazing picture quality with a HD input. I also read several reviews of this compared to it's newer replacement, the P50X1. The reviews preferred this model for several reasons.
Now that I own it, all I can say is don't ponder as I did! BUY THIS PANNY!
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: I can't say enough about Newegg! I've purchased lots of computer related items from them, but this is the 1st major purchase. I placed my order mid day on a Friday, and I received a call from the shipper on the next Monday to schedule my delivery! They arrived between the hours they stated on Tuesday, and brought the TV up to my second floor apartment. I did a look around for any visible damage (of which there was none), and signed my delivery confirmation. By far this has been my best purchasing experience EVER. Thank you Newegg!
Beautiful Display

- Cons: None
Excellent buy
- Pros: Excellent picture, large screen, and a cheap price. What more could you ask for?
- Cons: Not a one.
- Other Thoughts: Shipping was quick.
