Disapointed
- Pros: you kiding?
- Cons: Cheap frame and controls. No wonder you can't find it in stores. If you see the finish on them, you'd never buy them. I don't know who writes the nice reviews...
I sent for a rebate, and it has been 16 weeks and I never received it. I call in every other week, and I'm told the same thing, we'll send it in two weeks. Good luck collecting, I'm going to the FTC.gov
Great value
- Pros: Lots of HDMI connections, decent menu, decent HD output. Over air tuner is fantastic.
- Cons: As with all cheaper TVs, standard definition has weird artifacts and doesn't appear smooth at all. 720p even seems messed up looking as it is scaled to fit the resolution of the screen. 1080i (scaled down) does look very good, however.
- Other Thoughts: An excellent value for an entry level HDTV.
Strange TV
- Pros: - Price is low
- 3 HDMI ports - 1080i or 1080p HDMI and Component looks good (yes, TV accepts 1080p input through HDMI and Component although tv is only 1366x768) - VGA input looks excellent with XBOX 360
- Cons: - 720p thru HDMI looks awful. even with sharpness turned all the way down, you get edging artifacts like white outlines around everything. It makes running a PS3 through HDMI just unacceptable b/c PS3 will not upscale 720p games to 1080i/p. DO NOT BUY this TV if you want to run a PS3 through HDMI. PS3 though Compnent looks just ok.
- speakers are below average, too much bass distortion - remote is awful, have to wait 15-30 seconds after power on to use - only 1 Component input - after power cycle, you have to change from cable tuning to air and back to cable to get the OTA HD channels working again.
- Other Thoughts: If you want PS3 running HDMI at 720p (most games), stay away from this TV as well as the ViewSonic N3751w which is basically the same TV. If you have this TV, try hitting MENU 99-1 to get more advanced options to try to improve your picture quality. I found it best to turn off everything in the advanced menu.
