5 out of 5 eggsSTILL RUNNING STRONG

Pros: 1. Has not needed service since date of purchase on 12/16/2006 and has eclipsed the service contract 2x.

Cons: its kind of limited in features, it was a cheapo 1080p panel made in 2006 but it has been a workforce for me!

5 out of 5 eggsBest PC upgrade EVER.

Pros: Big, BIG beautiful display. Almost too big if you sit a typical distance (2-2.5 feet) from your PC. I think 32" is actually a preferable size for that distance, so I'm currently shopping for another computer desk that will allow me to sit 3-4 feet away from the monitor. If you sit too close, you might have to move your head from side to side just to see the entire thing. :o)

Ghosting is a non-issue with this panel. I came from a fast S-IPS panel and, though this panel is rated at 8ms, I was expecting a little bit of ghosting. There is none that I can detect. If someone were able to detect a hint of ghosting, it would be far outweighed by the size of this beast anyway. Once you game on a display of this caliber, there is no going back. The 22-24” widescreen panels have become very popular in the past year or so, but I can’t imagine using something that small now.

Cons: Can be too large if you sit close. Arms can only reach so far so I'd advise placing this on a desk that allows you to sit a few feet away.

No TV tuner, but that would just be a bonus. I also owned the Sharp LC-32GP1U gaming display, and the size was pretty much perfect but honestly after calibrating both displays the image on the Westy was still better for PC use (very surprising, but the Sharp excelled for TV, even SDTV).

There is also a minor issue that I've discovered, though it could be a driver issue. I'm using this on my E6600/4GB/8800GTS 640MB rig and find that sometimes when I come back after the PC has gone to "sleep," sometimes it won't sync the signal on the DVI inputs, forcing me to reboot the PC. It doesn't happen every time, but when it does it's annoying. You can get past this by switching to another input (e.g. VGA or HDMI) and then switching back to DVI1 or 2; sometimes it'll restore the display. Other times I must reboot. May not be an issue with other video car

Other Thoughts: BIG, beautiful display. True 1080p. Text is NOT blocky, no matter what the pixel pitch snobs with 24" displays might try to say.

Tons of inputs for hooking up game consoles, DVD players, whatever.

I got an extended 3-year in home warranty for peace of mind. 4 years total; the 3 years extended starts after the Westinghouse 1-year warranty expires.

Aside from the issue I'm having with the display sometimes not restoring the video signal after going into standby, this is bar none the BEST upgrade I've ever made, and I've added some nice goodies to my PC in the past. I agree totally with the guys that say you should splurge on the monitor, since it takes far longer to become obsolete than other components in your computer. That, and speakers.

The 37W3 will knock your socks off when you take it out of the box and set it up – I’ve had mine for a few months now and the “WOW! Factor” is still very much present. No regrets. It’ll certainly impress anyone who comes over and sees your

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bang for ur buck!

Pros: Great picture quality! and my newly built core2 duo machine together with Vista Ultimate 64bit looks amazing using one of the DVI ports on this display. Have owned one since Feb 07 played PC games like oblivion, FIFA 07 couldn't help but bring out the old Far Cry which supports 1080p and it looked better than before. Oh by the way for all u FIFA fans the 07 wont play in 1080p but u can reduce the resolution and select "Fill" from the Westy's remote to play full screen!. PS3 looks beautiful on this screen especially the Blue Ray Movies in 1080p= amazing detail level and sharp picture!.

Cons: I didn't purchase from newegg (got a better deal on another site) but that aside I was hesitant to purchase after reading that it has handshake problems with PS3 (blinking) every second when PS3 played media that wasn't 1080P like 720P that most PS3 games are and DVD video since PS3 played DVD at 480P and it did have that problem the fix to that so far was turn the Westy off and back on using remote.

Other Thoughts: heard somewhere that Westinghouse wasn't the problem and that it was the PS3 itself so I kinda hoped it was sony's PS3 since upgrading this westy's firmware at home don't seem possible to me. Just a couple of days ago turned on my PS3 and there were instructions to download and update the PS3 software since it was connected to the internet. This is probably the forth or fifth time PS3 had an update available when it connected online and for the first time this update made sense to me since the PS3 could now upconvert DVDs to 1080p! and this update also took care of the handshake problems with the westy so no more turning the westy off and on before playing every game or DVD!.

5 out of 5 eggslvm-37w3

Pros: Very good value. HD Sources look very good. Computer gaming at 1920x1080 is immersive. Enough inputs for all of my sources.

Cons: At this price these are not deal breakers, but the monitor would be perfect if:

The monitor would remember brightness/contrast/color settings for individual inputs.

The monitor had more aspect ratio settings than just stretch for 4:3 sources IE...combination of zoom/stretch.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is great. UPS delivered the monitor a day early. I find myself watching programs that I might not normally watch because they look good in HD.

Standard def sources suck closer than 6 feet, as they do with most 1080p LCD's.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome buy

Pros: Fantastic! If you are thinking this deal is too good to be true, it's not! Quality is fantastic; it's everything I want in a monitor.

Cons: 16:9 instead of 16:10 screen (1080 verticle instead of 1200 verticle).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV

Pros: Great for HDTV signals.

No dead pixels

For the money, I don't think you can do better.

Cons: Not so great for standard tv. Ends up looking a little blury.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm very happy with this set. The slight blur you I'm seeing on SDTV is most likley due to the my cable box. It's about time to turn the onld 8300HD in for the new model.

4 out of 5 eggsummm awesome!

Pros: The TV looks incredible and has all the hookups you will ever need. One big plus about this TV was the 2 DVI hookups so I could connect my game PC and hackintosh up to it. Also the extra VGA input will allow me to also connect my laptop if need be.

Cons: I do have what looks like 1 or 2 dead pixels around top-center. I'm to worried about them since I almost never notice, but its one of those things that might nag someone a little more obsessive than me.

Other Thoughts: Its really quite big. I gotta say, with my nice surround sound system and this display, gaming is a whole new experience.

Buy DVI-D cables with this TV. VGA is limited to 1280 resolution and has various issues(atleast when running VGA from a DVI card.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent HD TV/Monitor!

Pros: For the money, I have not found a better picture quality. Looks flawless with my xbox 360 at 1080p and plays HD shows perfectly! Hooked it up to my computer and just looks stunning for LOTRO and Oblivion!

Cons: Nothing I can think of at the moment.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for an awsome 1080p tv/monitor for a great price then pick this thing up!

4 out of 5 eggsYou Can't Go Wrong!

Pros: Beautiful Colors, Image is sharp. The variety and number of inputs make this unit awesome for guys like me who wanna hook up everything to it. Zero ghosting effects.

Cons: Dark blacks are still grey, and no matter how much you fiddle with the settings, you just can't get enough contrast for darker games (Burnout: Revenge, for example). Some combinations of Picture-In-Picture are not doable (VGA and Component), for some strange reason. Only 1 HDMI input.

Other Thoughts: This unit is the perfect size for a small to medium sized room. 42 overdoes it just a bit, but 37 is just right. For the price, you simply cannot go wrong picking this unit. Packed, shipped, and delivered well.
