Best buy for the price
- Pros: Cheap, makes decent espresso. Steamer works great. Has a removable water reservoir so it can be cleaned easily. A great entry-level espresso maker.
- Cons: A little loud.
Uses valve rather than packed grounds to build up pressure (hence the "wet" spent grounds). This can be both a pro and a con if you've ever had to deal with too coarse or inconsistent of a grind or have had trouble applying the correct pressure when tamping the grind.
Will not fit large coffee cups (vertically). No room for a double shot of grounds.
- Other Thoughts: A few things. This machine DOES NOT require "pods" as a reviewer stated, but would probably be able to use them.
My experience with the steamer/frother has been excellent. It does not water down my milk. It does, however require you to turn on a separate switch and wait a bit longer for the steamer to heat up (about another minute more than the initial heat-up). There is a single indicator light for both that lights up when it is ready depending on whether you have the steamer switch on or in the off position for making coffee. Once it is heated up the steam seems to continue just fine even when the indicator light goes off, which is almost always before the milk is ready.
Value for money is what you get here
- Pros: Its a good machine, it will make you an espresso or a cappuccino or latte.
- Cons: Pretty finicky. You need to do alot to get it to make you a decent espresso. The wand is also a little low, but its not too bad.
- Other Thoughts: Overall, you couldnt do better for this price. The only thing that would be better would be getting an OLD Gaggia or something off E bay, if you have that option, go with that and skip this, otherwise great beginner machine
worse OC and worse design
- Pros: nothing but cheap
- Cons: the pump makes a big noise and and it can't pump all the water. I need to clean the water tank every time after used.
- Other Thoughts: I paid $59.99 to buy a beautiful but useless coffee-maker. I will not do that again.
