The Mini Brewer heats in under 3 minutes and then brews just like larger regular brewers…with no residual water left over. The brewer uses Keurig's patented K-Cup portion packs and comes with a free variety pack of 10 K-Cups. This superior K-Cup technology offers the perfect cup of coffee without the mess of grinding coffee beans and loading grounds into coffee filters. Makes mornings much easier
- Pros: Great little coffee maker. Still working on finding my favorite k-cup of coffee, but that’s part of the fun. Extremely easy to use, no cleanup, and very low maintenance. Mine came with a variety of coffee pods (k-cups): Newman’s Own Extra Bold Newman’s Special Blend, Green Mountain Extra Bold Dark Magic, Green Mountain Nantucket Blend, Green Mountain Columbian Fair Trade Select, Van Houtte French Vanilla, Timothy’s Colombian La Vereda, Caribou Caribou Blend, and a couple of tea pods and one hot cocoa pod.
- Cons: Not many places carry sample packs in small quantities to help narrow down the choice of your favorite coffees. A bit expensive to experiment with boxes of 12 or 18. Shipping adds to the cost per cup.
- Other Thoughts: The instructions say to use a ceramic cup. I like drinking my coffee in my glass coffee mugs. The cup sensors on either side of the cup holder need a solid (non-transparent) cup for the sensor to recognize that the cup is in place. A piece of black electric tape over one of the sensors takes care of the problem, but then it is up to you to make sure that you have a cup in place before pressing the Brew button.
Perfect for the office
- Pros: Coffee and it is compact and it fits on my desk in my office and I don't have to spend $3.59 on a coffee when I can pop in a K Cup and have my coffee right at my desk.
- Cons: I don't work at newegg - haven't won the lottery yet. Oh cons on this unit - none that I can think of.
- Other Thoughts: You can find K Cups at a discount across the web - don't want to knock newegg since they have been good to me but if you do a search you will be in coffee or caffeine heaven.
