Great Buy
- Pros: I went by some advise and got artic silver. Running idle at 45.5 C
Processes everything beautifully. I added one 120mm and one 80mm to circulate some air. I used to run Socket 478...I've seen the light of LGA775...I love this processor!
- Cons: I agree, it may run hot, but its all how you have it set up and try to keep it cool.
Pentium 4 540
- Pros: I bought a Pentium 4 540 in 2004 in a Del XPS Gen3. I have not overclocked it but I am very satisfied with the performance. Coupled with my gig of ddr2 ram my system flies. Until several months ago I think I had the HT support off. I am such a bluetard. Once I turned it on my system goes much faster. Now I can play quicktime 7 HD at 1080P! Sort of.
- Cons: None whatsoever
- Other Thoughts: Dell outfitted the CPU with a massive copper heatsink that must be 6 inches tall!! No matter how much I stress the CPU and video the system stays cool.

- Pros: i have been running this processor for a little over a year now. It has been overclocked to 4.3ghz with a 1.560 vcore (super pi and prime stable), and never let me down, a good buy and real good performer
- Cons: with out serious cooling expect very high temp. in a NZXT lexa case w/ 3 120mm fans and 2 80mm fans i would have idle@38-45 C and load@61-68 C
- Other Thoughts: swiftech apogee waterblock, asetek extreme 12V water pump, black ice xtreme 3 radiator. all running on .5" id tubing
