4 out of 5 eggsNot too bad

Pros: Light weight, sturdy, spacious

Cons: Not compatible with other case screws. Didn't include enough compatible screws for the motherboard. Some of the screws provided aren't compatible with each other.

Other Thoughts: Considering not buying lian li again

5 out of 5 eggsThe best ATX case I've ever owned.

Pros: The Obvious Pros
-Lian Li build quality.
-All aluminum chassis.
-Elegant aesthetics.

The Not so Obvious Pros,
-Lots of accessories for this case, different HDD cages with Hot-Swap backplane, etc.
-Inexpensive when on sale.
-recessed Motherboard area.
-front fan blows right through to GPU
-Has USB 3.0 front ports instead of the 2.0 and IEEE-1394 shown.

Cons: I have no cons but it should be noted that this case is incredibly light, the aluminum thickness is more than enough for structural support, however, it's also more susceptible to wear and tear if you mishandle it.

5 out of 5 eggsGood looking, and a good value

Pros: Good sized, aluminum case. The finish is quite nice too for a 60 dollar case. The fans were quieter than I expected as well. I was planning on replacing them, but they seem OK. The look is VERY classy.

Cons: The panels are a bit thin. No cable management. There is no motherboard tray, and no cut out behind mobo to put a mounting block on it.

Other Thoughts: I paid 60 dollars, and free shipping, so I'm giving it 5 eggs. At 80 to 90 dollars it would be a 4 egg probably? The one thing I cannot overstate is that it looks very classy!

5 out of 5 eggsSaved me from my own stupidity

Pros: Strong construction, easy disassembly, smooth-working buttons, lots of room inside.

Cons: Extra fan surprised me, and I didn't know how to connect it.

Other Thoughts: I learned a valuable lesson after wasting $50 on a cheap case for a simple computer for my kids. The power button broke and the whole thing was useless in just 6 months. So I went back to a maker I'd already used before, and ordered this Lian Li case. What a contrast! The power button on this one feels like it could last 20 years. I transferred everything from the old computer into this case, and it all worked beautifully. There was just that extra fan that came with the new case... I couldn't find a place on the motherboard to connect it, so I had to go back out an get an adapter so I could use a cable plugged right into the power source. Once that was done, everything was as right as rain! I'll never buy a cheap case again.

5 out of 5 eggsLian Li PC- 7B plus II

Pros: The case is fairly plain jane which i liked the best. Its not to flashy. The case goes back to the roots of the old cases with the top mounted PSUs (has to be mounted fan side down), and if you need extra exhaust the 80mm fan hole in the top would do fine. Rolled edges are a nice touch, really clean looking interior. Also, HDD cage is removable to accomodate large GPUs.

Cons: I have come to realize that the case is naturally thick. So be careful about mounting CLC coolers to the rear or front. The pass through screws might not be able to reach through the case, fan, and into the radiator. There is NO backplate cut out for the motherboard so install backplates for cooler before installing. Since this has no window its not a big deal but cable management is none existant. Just try your best to keep wires out of main airflow paths.

Other Thoughts: Could have used a cut out for the MB tray. I think i know why the case is thicker then most steel ones, but thinner in the rear/font mounting holes for better compatibility for CLC pass through screws if that is possible. Make that 80mm top fan a 120 as well would be nice.

3 out of 5 eggsMaybe a little too plain

Pros: - Great build quality overall
- Paint finish is durable and looks great
- Nearly 0 plastic
- Can be completely dissasembled
- 2 powerful fans (front and back),
- Tons of room for a mid tower, fits extra tall heatsinks with no problem
- Comes with all the extra screws you will ever need

Cons: - HDD and 2.5" bays are not tooless, plus you have to take off both side panels to secure a dvd drive. It is nearly impossible to properly secure anything, because after taking the back panel off, the motherboard tray is in the way for the front screws
- If you take the hard drive bracket out of the case, and install the hard drive, its nearly impossible to screw the bracket back to the inside of the case, because the hard drives stick out too far
- Top mounted power supply
- No cable management
- No 2.5" SSD bay
- Not really room for extra fans, aside from a useless 80mm top fan
- Supplied fans are quite loud and have no built in speed control
- Side panels are too thin of metal
- Shows finger prints way too easilly
- Not painted on the inside

Other Thoughts: Love most of Lian Li's products, but this is one of their lowest end cases (priced like a high end case of any other brand) and its got the same cons as many other brans low end cases. I would have given this a 4-5 star if it wasnt $100 retail price

5 out of 5 eggsSimple and Great

Pros: All aluminum and lightweight. Everything comes apart for build purposes including the top and front panel. PSU area is large enough to accommodate today's 1600W PSU's without a problem (not possible with our stockc of classic Coolermaster cases....sigh).

Enough front bays to add 2 Bluray burners, triple hard drive hot swap backplane AND 2x 3.5" front panels. More storage goes on the NAS at any rate, so we just need a JBOD for the desktop system. Almost no one makes cases anymore with 2x 3.5" front panels and it is such a total pain that these are missing from today's 'modern' cases for front panel/connector expansion purposes. Thank you Lian Li..

We build computers to be utilitarian - function first then form. So, with all of the new and legacy connections - Thunderbolt, USB 3.0, eSata, USB 2.0 and Firewire, it takes 2 Akasa 3.5" front panels to cover almost all of the connections that we need for peripherals. Forget about a card reader - we decided to go future proof and buy one that just connects to a USB port instead of installing a card reader into the front panel.

Yah, sure, Lian Li makes some newer boss cases with 8-9, 5.25" external bays, bottom mount PSU area and removable mobo trays. But, you'll need LIan Li converters to fill the space and mount 3.5" front panels; at least Lian Li makes these to match their cases. And, a lot of extra $$$, too, for their new cases.

Interior cages in this care are removable with a couple of screws. If we use SSD drives, there's a cage for them. If we don't, the cage unscrews and slips out easily to make room for the extra long video cards.

Lian Li makes all sorts of front panel covers to hide the DVD drives, etc. We don't use them because, well, we kind of like to know if everything is working as it should. Those blinking lights are useful to us.

As one reviewer pointed out and we've confirmed this, it's easy to drill out the rivets for the mobo tray and quickly mod it into a removable mobo tray. With cable spaghetti, this makes this case so appealing that we've bought 3 during this sale and will figure out a way to buy more among us to have on hand as long as ATX (or smaller) mobos stay within the 12" x 9.6" size limit.

Cons: Lian Li no longer makes this case.

5 out of 5 eggsMechanical Work of Art

Pros: Simply beautiful, a work of art in design and construction quality.

Cons: Lian Li has ruined all other cases for me. I must now only buy these.

3 out of 5 eggsCould be great

Pros: Nice and simple, heavy metal

Cons: Flimsy mb plate, proprietary door fan you can't even buy anywhere, top fan is 80mm, no USB 3, really needs a version 2 of this case
