Engineered specifically for near-silent operation and optimum cooling, the Antec Performance P180 cabinet sets new standards in silent case design. Two separate chambers isolate the power supply and CPU into separate cooling zones with a maximum of five configurable fans. Cold rolled steel construction offers a solid base for busy components, minimizing “buzz” and vibration with silicone grommets on the attachments.
The sleek ATX mid tower is compatible with both Micro and Standard ATX motherboards. For further noise reduction, even when it’s holding its maximum eleven drives, the case has three-layer sound-deadening panels. To keep things cool during the hottest action, it has one 120mm Tricool fan at the rear with 3-speed control to synchronize quiet with cooling, and one 120mm TriCool Fan at the top.
The lower chamber also has another 120mm TriCool Fan. The drive bays include four external 5.25" bays, one external 3.5" bay, and six internal 3.5" bays. The front of the chassis has two USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire Port, and audio (I/O) ports, for convenient connectivity and performance.

My second Antec case
- Pros: This case was designed to be cool and quiet in colaberation with engineers from a quiet computing organization. They have succeeded on both counts. I have 4 - 120mm case fans, 1 - 120mm Zalman CPU cooling fan and the 80mm PSU fan. All I hear is a gentle sound of moving air. The case is large enough to have room for expansion, and the design of having the PSU on the bottom is really great. This is my second Antec case, my first one lasted 10 years thru 4 different motherboards, I'm sure this one will last at least as long unless MB design changes radically.
- Cons: I can't believe that this case comes without a speaker!!! I took my speaker from my old case and put it into this one.
- Other Thoughts: I read almost all of the CONS from people who bought this case from Newegg. They helped me enormously in reaching my decision to buy this one. Hints like routing the hard drive cables thru the slot under the bottom fan, the case not having a speaker, the care needed in removeing the side panels all helped me avoid mistakes in building my system. I reccomend that you look over the reviews to not only help you decide if you want to buy this product, but to get helpful information on problems and tricks on how to build your system. The information by previous owners are more accurate than the professional reviews I read, which rarely include some of the shortcomings and tips & tricks to make using this case easier.
If you have a problem with this case, you're probably doing something wrong
- Pros: Overall excellent design. Very quiet with excellent cooling. Use passive cooling on video card and the system is inaudible. (I use a Gigabyte GF6800) Also big Zalman cooler running at 1000rpm on AMD 64 3200+ with 2 gig of Mushkin 2,2,2 RAM.

Lack of internal speaker not a problem with ASUS "talking motherboards" (but it really should have one)
- Cons: Front door flimsy.
No internal speaker (not a problem with some motherboards)
Weird quality control problems (I think I got an early version of this case)
ie:
1) The reset switch did not work. I traced this to the motherboard end of its cable that had a connector crimped around the insulation rather than bare wire. Easily resoldered.
2)The front panel USB ports have an internal short that causes the systemj to reboot if anything is plugged into them. This happens even if the cable is not attached to the motherboard! Since it is an integral casting that contains USB, Firewire and audio cables, something inside is shorted. If I unplug all 3 cables from the motherboard, the problem stops.
3) The front panel door has warped slighlty.
The weird problems I had seem not be mentioned by anyone else (except for the front door warping). It took only 1 e-mail to Antec to get them to ship me a new door and new integrated front panel USB Firewire audio setup.
- Other Thoughts: The following are common problems people have with this case and the solutions.
1) The video card fan duct is difficult to remove or needs removal of screws that are self tapping into plastic and hence, will break.
This is not true. You should remove the fan duct by removing the 2 small screws at the bottom edge of the duct that are screwed into tapped metal receivers. These 2 screws are also used to adjust the left-right position of the duct. It takes seconds to remove them and the duct slips off to the right.
2) problems with power suppoly cables too short or PSU is too big.
You must do your homework for this case. Use an Antec neopower or other suggested PSU and everything fits with the stock fans.
3)How to disassemble & clean front filters.
You don't dissasemble anything. Open the front door of the case and push in on the right side of the grills over the small triangle cast into the plastic. The grills will pop open hinged o n the left.

Best Case
- Pros: 2nd system ive built with this case. Amazingly quiet(my fav part about the case). Very sturdy construction. Room for just about anything you would want on a high end personal computer.
- Cons: Expensive at the time of purchase.
- Other Thoughts: <3 Newegg's free 3 day shipping.
Best Case
- Pros: By far the best case I have purchased up to this point. Air filters are great for keeping out the animal dander, plenty of airflow.
Drives trays are easy to use and access.
- Cons: The only thing I was not happy with was that the power button and lights and not accessible with the door closed.
Awesome case
- Pros: - Keeps my stuff cool
- Easy installation of parts
- I bought it last year for $75 when it was on sale.
- Kinda quiet but I can see hear the fans spinning on low
- Cons: - The front IEEE1394 port doesn't work (-1 egg)
