3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This motherboard has some good features for overclocking. You can change FSB and AGB bus speeds. You can even adjust voltages. It has a great price versus performance ratio.

Cons: The max you can set mememory voltage is 2.8V. My memory wants more voltage, so I can't overclock much. I can only get up to 205 FSB with a multiplier of 12 on my AMD 3700+

Other Thoughts: I got this for free when I ordered my CPU, so I can't complain. If I was going to keep this mobo I would get a DDR booster so I could raise the memory voltage. But I decided to upgrade my video card to PCI, so no need now...... Always try to download the user manuals and read them thouroughly before ordering a motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent board.

Comments: I always fan of Epox mobo. I got it and slapped with a A64 3000 cpu with-out a hitch.

5 out of 5 eggsbad move

Comments: I got this board via UPS in reasonable time. i got it with a sempron 2500 and a geforce 6800 and it work terrific right off the bat. the bad move was my fault. i read the memory issue like the previous reviewer but found that it still worked w/ 2 double sided sticks and 1 single sided. i was very happy cause ram wasn't in my buget. so when i decided to flash the bios just for the hell hell of it, i found that it fixed this memory glitch and now i can only use 1 DS and 1 SS. as it says "DONT FLASH IF IT WORKS"

5 out of 5 eggsTruly Amazing

Comments: Wow, This thing is sweet. Not only is it lighting fast for a cheap midrange system (Sempron 3000+ 1 gig of 3200 FX5200) It is also rock solid in terms of stability and it has some really nice features for such a low price. The version I got had the Sempron BIOS on it already so if you are weary about buying a Sempron with it, don't. Also I was nervous when the manual said that it could only take 2 DIMM's if one was single sided the other dual. I have the Corsair Value Select 512X2, its double sided but the motherboard still runs fine so I think you'll be alright there. The little LED in the corner is really helpful and solved why my system wouldn't start with a check of the code. It comes with Norton Internet Security and Anti-Virus version 2004 as well. My only gripe is that the SATA connectors are in kind of an akward place. Also I couldn't find out why the Windows XP install would hang on my SATA drive. It turns out that you have to put in a floppy and the CD that comes with the mobo and it will copy the SATA drivers onto the floppy. After that though everything went smoothly. And I'm also loving the Cooler Master Centurion I got it in :) In all a 5 egg product. And a 5 for Newegg as well because they shipped everything very neatly in a big box with enough packing peanuts and bubble wrap.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad, but windows 2000 incompatibilities

Comments: Three stars for this one, due to several problems.

This board isn't completely compatible with Windows 2000. After restoring from Suspend To RAM, hardware interrupts suck up 70%-100% of the CPU until you reboot. (This was true even on a completely clean, brand new install of windows 2000 with nothing but the motherboard, cpu, and graphics card installed - and I tried a dozen different configurations and driver sets before I gave up). Windows XP seems to be compatible. If you're going to run Windows 2000, look for another board.

Additionally, Epox's poor website and support. Most of the website is in broken English, it is difficult to navigate, and there is little troubleshooting information at all.

All that negativity said - this board has some significantly nice features. The manual is well-written (in contrast to the last motherboard manual I read, from Chaintech, which was near worthless), the board is laid out nicely, it doesn't seem to have any major problems besides the wierd windows 2000 interrupts. The led status indicator is a nice touch.

As long as you don't plan on running windows 2000 and using suspend to ram, I'd say it's a good buy.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet!

Comments: I upgraded from a P4 2.4b to this motherboard with a A64 2800. With my x850XT my 3Dmark05 scores went from a overall 5300 to an overall 6100 and for CPU alone it went from 2300 to 3300. In games it really cranks out and so far has been very stable.
Haven't tried overclocking yet.

This came for free with the purchase of the CPU, a absolute killer deal.

As always newegg shipped fast and no problems. As you know, they rock.

Teamed this with a stick of Rosewill pc3200 ram (also purchase from newegg) Couldn't be happier.

Set up was super easy. Did a bios update by downloading the BIOS and then if you go to the directory for the web based bios update program you will find a bios update utility to flash it right through windows. No prob. (i hate floppies)
For some reason the web based BIOS update did not work, it couldn't connect. Minor glitch.

5 out of 5 eggsOverclocker friendly

Comments: This board is sweet for overclocking. You can raise the CPU's clock gen from 200 - 400 MHz in 1MHz steps. You can also lock the AGP freq.

Hassle free setup and a great price. Newegg rocks!

5 out of 5 eggsEasy

Comments: For my first build I was weary about any unforseen problems but there weren't any. Mobo is great and software is awesome. Easy to overclock. The shield that came with the mobo is a bit flimsy so beware that you might have to tweak it a bit to get it to fit.
