OK but needs BIOS update
- Pros: Excellent overclocking utility (uGuru). Good 8-channel audio. Generous component spacing around the socket. Accomodates large passive video card cooler. Handy LED status display.
- Cons: Current shipping BIOS (10) is terrible. A lot of faster memory will not POST with this BIOS. The latest BIOS (11) seems OK. ATA and floppy connectors are awkwardly placed, and you to load a driver for the ATA controller before you can install Windows.
- Other Thoughts: I used Patriot DDR2-667 and was able to POST and flash my BIOS. BIOS 10 really was not ready for release. Once later revisions of this board have better BIOS, it will be a nice mid-range motherboard.
Great performance, horrible layout.
- Pros: This is a no-frills board which packs a punch. For the price it can not be beat. It overclocks like a champ and I had no problems during installation and setup. It POSTed on the first attempt and everything has worked flawlessly. I had heard rumors that it doesn't like OCZ memory but this is not the case. I have been using OCZ Gold DDR2-800 and has worked beautifully.
- Cons: The layout of this board is aweful. So bad in fact that it almost made me buy a new board, I just can't believe some of the absurd places that abit placed things. The IDE connector is above the top PCI slot and the floppy connector is right below the bottom PCI slot. It makes it nearly impossible for good cable management which is a huge deal to me. After about 3 hours of work I was able to get it decently cleaned up, but this could have been easily avoided by placing the connectors in more appropriate areas.
- Other Thoughts: I recommend this board for its amazing price to performance ratio, it's great in that respect. However if you're like me and require super clean cable management, this might not be the best board for you, the connector placement is just whack.

what can i say? AMAZING.
- Pros: the HT is kudos: i'm installing 2 games and power director at the same time. uGuru makes almost everything easy. also onboard led showing error on what loading step helped a lot; figured out my ram was defective.
- Cons: The BIOS.
- Other Thoughts: wish i had gotten ab9 pro.
Not bad
- Pros: The layout is fairly good, and the Abit software is excellent.
- Cons: Abit has fallen off a bit in the quality area. My floppy controller failed after a few weeks. An ok, but not great overclocker. Bios options limit NB voltage which hurts.
- Other Thoughts: Ok, but there are better 965 boards available at this price.
Mobo
- Pros: Purchased with a Core 2 Duo e6400 and Kingston Value ram KVR800D2N5K2/1G which works fine for the 965 chipset.
- Cons: None, floppy placement is a non-issue for me.
