To the user below
- Pros: Unless your CPU has a FSB of 1066, it cant run 800 DDR2. If your FSB is 800mhz, then u can only run 667 or below. that is to say u can oc your cpu to a 1066 FSB, then your 800 DDR2 will work at the actual speed rather then not getting the top performance.
- Cons: Love the board too much
- Other Thoughts: Non other
Excellent Board
- Pros: Very solid components, plenty of 3-pin fan connectors. Good space around the CPU for any type of heatsink or cooler (water, peltier). Run CPUZ and it lists this board as AW8D-MAX. Abit tech support said that this particular model is the only revision of this board they will produce.
- Cons: The Abit site says this has SLI but could not confirm that through their tech support (although the board did come with an SLI connector).
- Other Thoughts: I am not sure why this board is so much cheaper than other boards. I've used the ASUS 975x and I find this board with far less issues (none actually) and much more stable. Compared with the Marvell issues that the ASUS board has, installation of this board and installing the operating system (WinXP) was a breeze.

Great Board But...
- Pros: Sharp Looking Board , very good price, comes with nice little daughter board for sound, all the bells and whistles you could want i could see this board selling for more with all it comes with.
- Cons: does NOT support Duo Core 2 processors. This board would be godly if it could use Duo Core 2 processors.
- Other Thoughts: I had to send this board back unfortunately since i couldn't use it with my new processor. but newegg as always TOP NOTCH customer service and prompt RMA. I ended up with MB ABIT AW9D 975X 775 again bought from newegg. A little more expensive still a solid ABIT board pretty easy over clocking, whish it came with a nice little daughter board for sound too but on board so far is good enough.
Great Board!
- Pros: excellent board, lots of features, low price.. SATA, USB, IEEE 1394 and 2 16x PCI-E Slots! What more could you want? Maybe a Pentium D 805 to overclock the life outta! Great BIOS setup, it saved my CPU when the stupid intel HS/Fan came lose on the chip, it killed power to the CPU and saved the chip from a hot death! On board sound is actually quite decent, I'm impressed.
- Cons: Use rounded cables for IDE drives, standard cables will get in the way!
- Other Thoughts: Works perfect with G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 RAM. I got it in here and it's running fine!
Good Board
- Pros: This is a well layed out board with all the features I was looking for to upgrade a friend's system.
- Cons: I should have read the fine print as I assumed Newegg's CPU specs on this board were a typo. This is the only 975x chipset motherboard that doesn't support the Core2Duo CPU.
- Other Thoughts: Promptly returned the board. Newegg was excellent on this and purchased a nVidia based board instead that's working great.
