- Pros: Cheap, fast, stable. I used my existing 6800GT agp card, 1 gig HyperX 500mhz DDR, case, and drives. I did buy an Intel E6700 Core 2 Duo and Antec 650W power supply to go with it. I also bought the Zalman ZM-CS1 adapter so I could reuse my 7000 series cpu cooler.
- Cons: I can't seem to overclock cpu at all. My ram is rated up to 500mhz. The E6700 should go to 3000mhz without any voltage increase (or so I've read)...nothin...zilch. I'll keep trying.
- Other Thoughts: My 1st board was a REV 2.0. It came in the same type of box the "AS" version comes in. I put it together, installed XP Pro, loaded drivers...Very stable. Tried updating bios using @BIOS...crashed. RMA'ed dead board through Newegg. Received REV 3.9 second time around. Put back together without a hiccup. Running great...I'll try bios update some other time. I've updated bios files many many times... I think Gigabyte program was at fault.
Excellent Motherboard!
- Pros: High-Quality, cheap price, supports current CPUs, and even has Integrated Graphics in addition to the 8x AGP slot. Making this motherboard perfect for upgrading an older Pc to today's standards. You can't go wrong with Gigabyte products!
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: This board was used to upgrade a family member's OLD comp. Now it is like a whole new computer again!
Excellent, easy install, stable
- Pros: Easy install, booted right up, stable at stock settings, just works.
- Cons: The fan control is a bit confusing, seems to turn off while wait on OS selection on dual boot.
- Other Thoughts: Pentium D 925 3.0, ATI 8500 AIW AGP
