Asus K8N-DL
- Pros: Good overclocking, very stable. Asus still supports this year old board with the ability to use any 200 series Opterion you want! Unlike everyone else out there that makes dual opteron boards.
- Cons: I can't really say I have any. If I had to say 1 it would be the single pci express slot but then again the power of 2 dual core processors more than makes up for. Slap in a 8800 gtx and you are a virtual superpower, need I say more.
- Other Thoughts: I didn't get mine from newegg cause they never have them. I've been building computers for 7 years. Best board I ever!
The best i ever got
- Pros: It is the best mobo you can buy. Make sure you know what you are doing. The ram you need for this mobo is an "ECC" memory.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: Don't believe what you read by the other reviews. I built this computer and never had a problem. Make sure you know what you are going to buy. This mobo is not for newbees.
what a hunk of junk
- Pros: Cheap
- Cons: Cheap.. this board is a hunk of junk! i now have had 2 over the past year, and both have given me nothing but trouble:
The NB fan is very loud, dont even think about replacing it, as the PCI-E vid card rides right over top of it, with VERY little clearance..
- Other Thoughts: PLEASE save yourself the headaches and buy a serious board from a serious manufacturer...
Asus does NOT belong in this server/workstation market, as their lacking product reliabilty proves this painfully
The moral of this story is, if it's cheap (like this board), it'll run cheap...
