ASUS presents a premium gaming platform with the NVIDIA 590 based P5N32-E. Intel’s Socket T supportsLGA775 based processors, including the new Quad-core, and the DIMM slots will support up to 8GB of DDR2-800 memory for maximum gaming power. The 3, yes THREE, PCI-E x16 slots will support 2 GPU cards at x16 and a physics card at x8 speeds. There is one ATA133 header and 6 SATAII headers for drive connectivity. Four back panel and 4 internal headers give you up to 8 USB 2.0 ports and there are up to 2 FireWire ports (1 back panel and 1 header). Dual gigabit LAN connectors provide maximum network access. Two eSATA ports give you high speed access to your external data storage devices.
The SupremeFX audio system is an 8 channel setup that has jack sensing for 2, 4, 6 or 8 channel speaker systems. Also included is the DTS Connect feature which converts your stereo or multi-channel audio into a DTS audio signal and sends it out to any DTS enabled system and can also convert your standard stereo audio into a multi-channel experience through the computer’s speaker system. The included Array Microphone is designed to work with the SupremeFX audio to give you crystal clear sound with no buzzing or noise when talking with your teammates online.
The on-board WiFi AP Solo allows a new level of versatility for your PC, enabling it to create a complete wireless home network in either AP or wireless client mode. Users will be able to play LAN games, connect to the Internet, access and share printers, and use Skype from anywhere within range. WiFi-AP Solocan provide these functions even when the PC is in sleep mode, so users can use Skype as a true replacement for traditional telephone service. WiFi-AP Solo supports 802.11b/g wireless networks.

Wonderfully Stable & Wicked Fast, Works Right Out of the Box!
- Pros: It just works! Put it in, connect everything up, and it all comes up. Somehow gets better performance out of my SATA I 150 RAID-0 then either controller on my MSI board did.
Best manual in the business. Less noise. Very stable under heaviest loads.
- Cons: Single IDE Interface. Black and dark compared to the cool red my unreliable MSI board was.
Neither of which is a probably a big deal for 98% of users out there.
- Other Thoughts: I design and install networks for a living and use my workstation to play games and use for business. I wanted fast and reliable and this board is doing very well at both so far.
However, I use a slide out hard drive drawer to do data recovery and it requires IDE interface, which is used up by both my DVD drives.
With an Intel 6600, 2 gigs of Corsair with EPP and a single lower end 512mb Evga 7900 GTO, 3dMark05 is posting just under 11,000 with no optimizations performed.
Runs Oblivion with no lag in frame rate at all max settings, 1600 x 1200 resolution, without any optimizing as well. When I get the second GTO, it will be waiting for something to use it.
Will post 3dMark06 after testing it.
Best SLI Board for Conroe
- Pros: Best SLI board out right now. Very cool heatpipes. Has slot for future physx card. Loaded with features and extras...
- Cons: Uses the C19 chipset which lags behind the intel chipsets. Also has poor placement of PCI-E x16 slots.
- Other Thoughts: The C19 was a last ditch effort by nVidia to get a working chipset on the market that would be compatible with the Conroe. It is not much different than the nForce4's used in previous boards, wait for the c55 that comes out later this quarter. It will beat the c19 by about 200MHz. ASUS could learn a lesson from DFI and put the first PCI-E in the top expansion slot and the second one 1-2 slots down.
It's a nice board, but you would be better off waiting.

RMA NIGHTMARES
- Pros: 3 PCIE slots.. worked great out of the box (for 3 months).. nice layout..
- Cons: stopped working after 3 months.. Would not post.. 2 board.. DOA.. would not post. (youd think that would be fixed) 3rd board.. worked for 1 day. turn it off. never to turn it on again. (on phone for my 4th RMA!! wow.. what a loss..)
- Other Thoughts: should I spend another $25 to ship it back, and wait two weeks, or cut my losses before it takes out a vid card.. or something.. I hate this board.
Speedy
- Pros: Fast!
Good options. Great cooling system.
- Cons: The 590 chipset isn't as stable as I was hoping.
Pretty spendy. After 3 months, BIOS chip stopped working. It was under warranty, though. Only had to pay for shipping.
- Other Thoughts: I would buy this board again.
Nightmares with this board
- Pros: Nothing! Can't get it to work!
- Cons: 4th board RMA'ed! ended up spending more and more money due to Asus rec. on faulty parts. First it was the CPU then they thought it was the rams. I'd ended up buying all these items and the problems is still here. I'm in IT field and build countless PCs - just this stupid board is giving problems. ASUS support sucks! It boots when it wants to. Crash for no reason. Beeps comes on when it wants to. Not worth my $200 something dollars!
- Other Thoughts: From Pentium D 3.4ghz presley to Q6600, from Corsair 800 XMS pro to Dominator 1066, PSU from Enermax 550W to 650W Liberty, ATI X1900XT, SB Audigy 2 EX, Raptor drives, etc...
