3 out of 5 eggsMany THoughts

Pros: when it works it works good, i have been an asus person for over 10 years, and have always got problems resolved

Cons: No resolution this time, I have had 2 of these boards, the first one was new in box, it would not register all 8 gigs of ram, I used 4 of my 8 gigs, later other problems began happening with boot up, the then it would not start at all among other things, new egg gave me an RMA to send me a new board, instead i got an open box, but :(, the new board would not accept some of the default applications like PC PROBE, but it did work with all 8gb of my ram, after about a year now the motherboard is burning up hard drives, I am on my 3rd hard drive that grinds and scratches 24/7 even at idle and my OS is very slow. the drives all start banging the read write heads inside so I took the 3rd drive and put it in another Computer and it works flawlessly, after moving it back to the L1N64 it is not working again, Don't know what to do!

Other Thoughts: now i need another L1N one and people say that my ram wont work in it, so what is a poor fellow supposed to do, i am looking to another company for motherboard but so far nothing that my ram will work in SIncerely Totally bummed

1 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: It may look nice, duel socket, 12 sata ports, and SLI capable.. but that is about it.

Cons: The first L1N64-SLI WS/B I purchased was from BTE Computers. I could only get it to boot to BIOS for some reason, never to OS. I found out later when I contacted Kingston, that I was using the wrong RAM for the board. They (BTE) mislabeled the board when selling to me (specified L1N64-SLI WS, sent me L1N64-SLI WS/B.) So instead of returning the board right away I go out and bought registered RAM for it.

After I received and installed the new RAM, the board doesn't even POST. I tried switched the RAM out with the previous unregistered I had in it, and I cannot even get into the BIOS like I previously could.

So I send it back to BTE to get a refund. They send me an email saying they will not refund it unless ASUS will RMA it. I wait a bit for them to RMA it with ASUS and ASUS wont take it back since it has worn screw holes.

So I lost $400+ because ASUS will not RMA because of "worn screw holes."

Other Thoughts: After this I decided to try again with a company I know will RMA it; I purchased the same board from NEWEGG.

The board did the exact same thing as previous one, but this time I get my money back from NEWEGG. <3 newegg.

Don't buy ASUS boards.

1 out of 5 eggsGood for decoration

Pros: none

Cons: Starting by loosing the Ethernet ports and PCI Ex Slot;
Starts and shuts off by himself. Ends out dead after 3 or 4 moths. From the original L1N64-SLI WS replaced after 5 months by the worthless L1N64-SLI W/B. Forcing me to by
new processor's and new memory. This THING as being RMA 5 TIMES, and the RMA DEP. is USELESS!

After being RMA 5 times

Other Thoughts: Stay away from ASUS

5 out of 5 eggsArk of the Covenant

Pros: 12 SATA, 4 PCIEX16, SLI, MASSIVE CAPABILITIES FOR SERVER APP. RUNS 24/7, NO FAILURES EVEN ON AUTO UPDATES W/MICRO$@%!. RUNNING 5.5TB (11 500GB SEAGATES) 1 RAPTOR 32GB SYS, CHEEPIE 512MB VID CARD (ENOUGH TO SEE FILES AND PICS, RUN CS2 WITH) 4GB RAM (WIN XP64, SWITCHING TO SERVER FOR 8GB) 1000W PWS (WON'T EVEN RUN BOTH CPU'S W/O IT) GREAT MULTITASKING, 3GBS FILE TRANS RATES.
GREAT FOR HEATING THE ROOM IN THE WINTER!

Cons: MUST HAVE FANS ON POINTED AT THE CASE TO KEEP COOL IN EVERY OTHER SEASON, BUT MANAGABLE. NEED 65*F TO STAY COMFORTABLE. MAY SWITCH TO DUAL LIQUID COOLING. COUPLE OF G's TO BUILD EVEN ON NEWEGG (WON'T EVEN COMPARE TO RETAIL - STICKER SHOCK OVER-THE-COUNTER PRICING) NEED MASSIVE CASE TO HOLD EVERYTHING ITS CAPABLE OF ATTACHING. (BIG FOOTPRINT TO STORE AND HIGH DB's TO LISTEN TO). LOW OVERALL RAM CAPAC. LIMITED # OF BOARDS W/1207 CHIPS AT TIME OF PROD.

Other Thoughts: RUNNING THIS RIG IN A DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO WITH 15 COMPUTERS NETTED TOGETHER, THIS IT THE HUB. BUILT/REBUILT 95% OF THE RIGS I'VE USED OR OWNED FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS USING NEWEGG. THIS RIG HAS BEEN STABLE AND RUNNING FOR THE PAST YEAR W/O BEING TURNED OFF, LOVE IT. OTHER THAN THE HEAT ISSUE IT'S BEEN ROCK SOLID STABLE. SET IN A LIAN LI 2000 CASE, IT'S BIG AND HEAVY BUT DEFINITELY THE BEST CHOICE I MADE A YEAR AGO FOR A SERVER MULTITASKER. IF YOU'RE A GAMER, DON'T ASK, IT'S STILL AN INNOCENT MOTHER, HASN'T KILLED A FILE YET!

2 out of 5 eggsHit or miss

Pros: I've heard that it's fast. It looks very cool.

Cons: Hope that you don't have any technical issues with this board because it is impossible to find documentation for trouble shooting. Asus website is the worst site i have ever had the displeasure of using. I've never owned a product that has had so little helpful information available.

Other Thoughts: This board will more than likely come to you with a bios that doesn't support quad-core CPU's even though it specifically states that it does. If you MUST have this board make sure you have a socket F dual core handy to flash the bios with.

The board is just a little too large for my mid-tower case. So, make sure that you have 10.5" of clearance length wise.

5 out of 5 eggsFINALLY!!!!

Pros: WOW!!! With 2350's this thing is FAST, FAST, FAST!!!!!!
I used to have 2 single core opterons-(244).
I can't feed this thing fast enough.

Cons: The one I received was DOA. After waiting for the RMA process the replacement finally arrived.

Other Thoughts: I wish it would have worked on the first try.

Pros: It looks cool (and it's probably really nice)

Cons: Doesn't seem to support FB-ECC memory. Only supports ECC non Buffered

Other Thoughts: I should have done more reading.
