5 out of 5 eggsBest Value!

Pros: Low Cost, Good Quality, Nice BIOS features, Overclocking capability

Cons: Not Many, reached its upgrade limitation

Other Thoughts: Just wanted to say I bought this Motherboard back in 2007. At the time I think I had a Athlon 5200+ I then upgraded to a X2 6000+ 3.0 ghz in 2009. I'm running that with 4 gb of ram and put an ssd in it with a GeForce 9800gt video card. I am still rolling this thing into 2014 and it is still plugging along. No glitches, no burnouts, no cpu problems, just a great motherboard. I know no one is probably going to buy this in this day and age, but I'm still gaming and having fun with this guy 7 years later. Load quick, and with the ssd I'm cruising with Windows 7 pro. Good job Biostar, I am going to give this baby to my kids and build a new one, and I'm sticking with Biostar

1 out of 5 eggsBiostar TFORCE 550

Pros: None

Cons: Board posted fine first time, checked BIOS date and was current. Windows XP install OK. Started to install board drivers and Windows bluescreened and would not reboot. I re-formated and try to reinstal and keep getting IRQ errors. I uninstalled all hardware not needed to run and managed to get Windows reinstalled. Installed board drivers OK this time but when I start to install software it bluescreens every time I add a new piece of software. I used Crucial RAM and a WD Raptor 10,000 RPM SATA drive. I never was able to re-add any other hardware.

Other Thoughts: Save your money on this board. I have had it too long during build to have it RMA'd but that is my fault not Newegg's. Going back to an ASUS board for sure.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not pay money for this board!

Pros: Fit's in most cases. Circuis are closed for optimal electron propogation.

Cons: Doesn't recognize half of the ram I bought for it. Doesn't even detect itself. This board pretty much does what it wants, regardless of what you do to it.

Other Thoughts: Buying this board will violate the capitalistic economy of the united states government.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Mobo!

Pros: Very nice install. Installation CD would not recognize any of the components using auto find feature. had to manually locate and run driver installation files myself, but I won't hold that against them since I'm running XP 64bit.

Cons: Only one IDE connector. Had to buy a new hardrive because I didn't have enough IDE ports to get everything hooked up!

Also, IDE ports on a bad spot on mobo. No support beneath them while plugging them it. Heard some strain and stress sounds from the board while plugging up equipment.

Other Thoughts: Great board for a great price. Perfect for the person wanting a good mobo without the hassles

3 out of 5 eggsok

Pros: this mobo is cheap. the over clocking stuff on it rocks! 4 pci slots

Cons: biostar has gotten better over the last 2 years but still are kind of low end. i'm having big IDE problems. not wanting to read any cd/dvd on 2 of 3 drives i have tryed. and also the on board sound is giving me problems. the sound jumps up in down when i talk to people in team speak. had to use a 3 1/2 drive to flash bios kind of dumb.
u cant say bad words in reviews like c r a p p y.

Other Thoughts: its to late for me to RMA this so i will try to reinstall everything and go from there.
people are talking it up about the new biostar mobos. I hope i just got a bad one and there not all like this.
i will give a update when i try to fix everything.
would buy again bottom line because of how highly people speak of this mobo and the 570 biostar.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap...

Pros: It's cheap, stable, has some nice features for the price. It works.

Cons: RAM is too close to the CPU, I can't fit anything into the first slot if I want to keep my CPU fan.

Support is horrible. Website is nigh on unnavigable, obtaining the BIOS update was difficult. The programs that come with it seem nice but are mostly buggy and no real help at all. BIOS update program absolutely does not work. Because of this, I can't get the board the recognize my CPU properly, so the monitoring programs that come with the board are useless.

Other Thoughts: It works, but I wouldn't buy it again. I learned the hard way that the motherboard isn't the place to skimp. Save your money elsewhere.

5 out of 5 eggsBIOSTAR 550

Pros: Very good and cheep motherboard.
I use only a lot of Biostar boards, they have been have been proven to be fast, stable, and cheep. I am using an AMD Duel core 6000+, 2G OCZ PC800 RAM, with an BFG 8800GTX. Almost all Biostar boards have well over clock options, but with my hardware I have no need to over clock. I have test this board with many games like Half-life 2 Death match, Call of Duty 2, Doom 3, and the newest game to come out with HIGH requirements Bioshock. This Motherboard has met my needs and then some for the price.
This motherboard works well with RAID and XP, but Vista still has some problems with using RAID.

Cons: As seen on most Biostar motherboards the CPU is too close to the RAM =[ I would buy 2 more GB or OCZ RAM if it would fit on the motherboard.
NOTE… Vista has problems with RAID if you plan to use vista with RAID you may have some stability problems.

Other Thoughts: READ MY CONS

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a good budget board for overclocking. It has a TON of options (alot of which I've not changed). I have a x2 3600+ brisbane at 2616mhz stable 24/7 (from stock 1900 mhz) and have booted 2850 mhz on stock cooling (the 24/7 2616mhz is with a zalman 9500 cooler and runs COOL, havn't pushed it further to keep temps nice and low). No problem recognizing my g.skill HK's and installed windows easily with a sata 20x liteon dvdrw

Cons: None for this price range this board is a beast

Other Thoughts: I recommend this board for those that want to buy a cheap chip and boost its performance by overclocking. It has so many options it can be overwhelming to newbies.
