5 out of 5 eggsHad a copy of win xp pro x64 sitting around

Pros: Thought I would build a quick dual core win xp pro x64. I did and it is still running good. Low cost for a quick mid end solution.

Cons: Sucks it only holds 2 gigs of ram.
Freezes up with some of 32bit emulated software, but that is more attributed to the lack of +4gigs of ram and not enough 64bit software.

Other Thoughts: It still running. No RMA. Im gonna throw a sony blue-ray player/and standard dvd burner into it and see if it blows it up.

5 out of 5 eggs2 years later

Pros: This motherboard is enough to build a decent entry-level computer. It has good features and provides expandability options. Once again, is not for hardcore gaming so don't expect for it to keep working if you push it too much. Keep it simple and this board will do the job.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought this board for a client about 2 years ago and it still performs as good as new. I recommend it for a low budget, entry-level computer.

5 out of 5 eggsK8M800 WOW

Pros: Inexpensive and free shipping (30 bucks). Has sata and IDE. Put together whole system including a monitor for less than 200 bucks.

Cons: Had to download the vga driver from biostar site since I use xp x64

Other Thoughts: Fantastic basic board. stable and cool. just used for internet and e-mail. paired with amd 1.9 gig single core cpu, 2 gig crucial ram and encore wireless pci card. oc'd the cpu to 2.1 gig and still stable on stock voltage. PC wiz global score = 2200+. For a basic board, WOW!

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Board

Pros: Very easy to install and setup. Manual is easy to understand and follow. Had no trouble installing at all, and this was my 1st complete new build. The board is over a year old now, and no other problems have risen.

Cons: The only bad thing about this board is the onboard audio never worked. I bought the pieces at different times, so I was never able to check the board when I got it. I installed a sound card, fixed the issue, no other problems to mention.

Other Thoughts: For $50 in 2007, for a board that still works, this is great.

4 out of 5 eggsK8M800

Pros: It gives me time to upgrade other components.

Cons: 1 DOA. I upgraded to this but yet I am still out of date.

Other Thoughts: After installing a second stick of memory it would not boot. I had to reset CMOS using jumper setting on the motherboard. You can get the manual offline for this procedure.

Cons: The Agp/PCi slots are to close you lose a pci if you install a video card

Other Thoughts: The 5400 is the fastest Cpu this board supports. If you go to there website it tell you the 4800 is the fastest. Not true there support tech told me it will and I have so Im writing this review on it On IT

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent value and performance

Pros: I had a P4 system motherboard died on me and I needed something cheap that would also use my 4x/8x AGP video card, IDE hard drive, IDE CD-RW, and my 20-pin ATX power supply. This was the perfect choice having lots of options on top of keeping my older hardware. I installed a Sempron 64 3800+ and 2gb of Kingston PC5300 DDR2 dual channel ram. It has run for 18 days without a single restart on WinXP SP3, and runs cool and quiet. I'm hosting a NeverWinter Nights server with this thing averaging 4-10 players online at a time 24/7. Don't listen to that "just for internet and e-mail" jazz on the bargain products, I'm proving that wrong :)

Cons: NewEgg ran out and I want another one!!!

Other Thoughts: This board is easy enough for newbie techs and perfect for upgrading older systems. It will run off of a 300W ATX supply and use the AGP video cards and IDE devices. It's a no brainer for a bargain upgrade. I will use this one for any and all old system upgrades with similar criteria.
