Great Cheap Combo
- Pros: Great for the price, almost the cheapest computer parts you can put together ATM. Fits perfectly in my ATX case with ATX power supply (of course with plenty of room to spare). Comes with the CPU fan, which is great too because that's one thing you normally have to add when building a PC.
- Cons: AMI BIOS, not preloaded with defaults, not the greatest setup. Has many of the basic features most mobos have, but not everything, check the specs to make sure your getting what you want. Cheap chipsets all the way around. But for a below average user for light usage, it great!
- Other Thoughts: This was for a pc built as cheaply as possible, and memory is cheap right now, so it was a good deal. Built for a below average PC user, so features were not a priority, price was, and the price was great, cheapest I put a whole PC together.
Great file server
- Pros: Great performance for the size and price of this machine. I threw in a gig stick of ram and an old HDD hooked up via USB to an external HDD and it became a great low power file server.
- Cons: Um, none?
- Other Thoughts: For the price you really cannot beat the performance. I was really surprised because of reading the rest of the reviews about poor performance. But i threw on Ubuntu with the gig of ram and it was really snappy and very responsive.
Great Little Board & CPU
- Pros: very low power, uses very cheap and plentiful ram, ATA133. Ran for nearly 2 years non-stop as a Linux file server and will soon be retired to a life as a carpc.
- Cons: Not very fast processing wise but its still serving its purpose admirably.
- Other Thoughts: I installed with 512M ram, and dual 4 port sis sata cards in the cheapest case with the most drive bays.. a name brand 500w psu and 10 IDE & SATA Hard drives running a minimal debian stable and only ran ftp/http/nfs/smbfs. Fast enough to serve/receive files at 10MB/s over Ethernet, holds over 2TB of data with room to spare, could hold 5-10TB with newer density drives and was built for less than $200 (excluding drives)
