Awesome Board
- Pros: I have used many different AMD boards in quite a few system builds, but this has been the best of the pack. My system is rock solid, and the performance is top notch. setup could get no easier than this board.build quality of this board is excellent
- Cons: I have not found any with this board, and I have looked.
- Other Thoughts: My system consist of the EVGA 122-M2-NF59-TR motherboard, AMD 5600+ @ 3.1ghz, 2 gigs Apida ram @ 5-5-5-12 running 888mhz, iStar nitro case, Aerocool Zerodba 620watt PS, EVGA 8800GTS 320mb running @ 600mhz core, 1000mhz memory WD Raptor 74 gig hd, 2 DVD Burners, 40 gig WD storage drive, 2 Seagate Freeagent external drives 250gb each.
system is stable as a rock with no issues or lock-ups. CPU idles at 28c with a thermalright SI-128 with a silverstone 120mm fan. temp rises to approx. 36-38c after 2 hrs of counterstrike source. I average approx. 175- 250 fps in game. I could not ask for a more stable solid running, fast system that this.

AWESOME!!!!!
- Pros: The 590SLI chipset is the best (single CPU slot) you can get on an AMD platform. Recognized my 1080p hdtv in the bios and sent out the right signal! No more switching to vga to see bios, then switching back to DVI to get hi-res in windows (my old mobo sent a 640*480 which is not supported by most hdtvs via dvi-hdmi). Full x16 width on the PCIx slots give my 8800s a little extra in SLI. RAID0 support W/O an extra controller. 4 Power Leds are great for PSU troubleshooting and the little 2-digit screen tells me when I'm overclocked too high. Oh, and It's black.
- Cons: Did not recognize my 6000+ and very glitchy with SLI-RAM out of the box, but a quick BIOS update fixed both of these problems. It uses much more power then any of my previous boards. Chipset runs very hot at about 47C at idle and upwards of 54C at load, probably due to the fact that they're right under my video cards with almost no breathing room.
- Other Thoughts: The first thing you should do is update the BIOS from EVGA's website. Get bios from evga and drivers from nvidia, don't bother with the ones on the disk. Foxconn makes the EXACT same board and charges about $60 more.
The only AMD board I can find better is the ASUS Crosshair (just because the chipset heatsinks are MUCH better), but expect to pay a bit more for it. Overall, it's a great board that desreves a perfect score.
Solid Board
- Pros: SLI, PCIex4, roomy, works well with XP and Vista 64, good RAID (if you download the current driver set from nVIDIA)
- Cons: VERY poor documentation - Virtually none.
- Other Thoughts: Be sure to flash to the new BIOS. I am ready for another one, but now they are out of stock!
