4 out of 5 eggsgreat card

Pros: This thing is FAST! Paired with an overclocked 805D I can run oblivion at 1680x1050 with 8xAF and max settings and not drop below 20fps.

Cons: This thing is HOT! Running modern games at high resolutions gets this thing up to 85C even in a well ventilated case. Mine blue screened and fried itself, now POST is scrambled and video cuts out at windows login screen

Other Thoughts: DON'T make the same mistake I did and try to save a few bucks buying an open box item. A fair amount of these things ship with serious artifact issues, and you can't return open box. Now I'm out another $xxx bucks to replace the one that died.

5 out of 5 eggsSmokin'

Pros: This thing rips through everything I can throw at it without the slightest problem. And it looks cool.

Cons: HOT! HOT HOT HOT! Get a different cooler for this card, the stock one is satisfactory and vents air out of the case well, but the card still burned me when I touched it. I installed a Zalman VF700-LED AlCu and that made the temps more bearable. Don't put this card in a cramped environment; it needs serious cooling.

Other Thoughts: So long as this card has sufficient cooling, it's a dream come true.

5 out of 5 eggsTops for fragging and editing

Pros: Runs Quake 4 at 70fps. Can non-linear edit high rez video as fast as a mechanical analog deck. Excellent bang for the buck ratio. It is weighty but I would not say it runs hot. My Antec case has so many fans I doubt anything would run hot.

Cons: Covers one of my PCI-E x1 slots but I have no plans to use it for now so it is not an immediate problem.

Other Thoughts: Could use some kind of snap or twist fit on the dongle (like the bayonet of a BNC connector) to make sure it can't slip out.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card for the money

Pros: FAST...FAST...FAST This card is great. I was worried that going from a x800XT PE to this card wouldn't show a major speed increase. I Was Wrong. I even have this card overclocked and it screams more.

Cons: This card is Big and Heavy. It feels as if it's 5 pounds or more.

Other Thoughts: My lil brother bought an x1900GT at the same time that I bought this...the only game that runs better for him is CounterStrike Souce, and I think it's cause his CPU is a lil faster (for now)

5 out of 5 eggsA+ card

Pros: Great card, very happy with my purchase. It runs all HalfLife 2-based games at max settings without a hiccup, as well as X3 and virtually any game produced early 2006 and earlier. I have yet to try it on Oblivion though.

Cons: Runs very hot. I can probablly cook a steak on this thing.

Other Thoughts: 256 megs may not be enough for ultra high-end games running on max settings, but that's what the x1900xtx is for, right?

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: Amazing performance, everything looks beautiful. Stepped up from a 9800 Pro All-in-Wonder and I couldn't be happier. Runs Red Orchestra at 1024X768 full AA, AF, and highest settings without breaking a sweat.

Cons: Fan can get noisy when really working it, but that only happens when running demanding games and you probably have audio blasting into your ears anyways.

5 out of 5 eggsUber fantastico!

Pros: 256bit interface, 256mb, 625mhz core, 1500mhz memory. This card will play ANY game you throw at it.

Cons: I should have gotten the 512mb version, but cost was right.
This is just being nitpicky but this card still wont run Everquest 2 at high quality in some areas :(

Other Thoughts: My gaming rig is mediocre compared to some of you guys out there. I upgraded from a 128mb 6600GT so the performance increase is fantastic. My old 3dmark06 score was 1578. New score is 3768. This score is low only because of my processor score being only 954 (socket 754 athlon 3400+ O/C'd @ 2.54ghz). My memory is also only PC2700 @ 333mhz so my score would probable be in the 4k's if I upgraded to dual core and some PC4200. Other than that I can run any game other than EQ2 at *NEAR* maximum settings. I have a 21" viewable monitor so I like my resolution at the least around 1280x1024 which is the limit of this card if you push full graphics on any game. I run EQ2 @ 1600x1200 on a tweaked up 'balanced' setting.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat performer

Pros: 3d mark06=4303 05= 8719 with x2 4000
Running stock for now and no lag at all in bf2 on max settings with 2 gigs of corsair 675ram.
HL2 looks gorgeous as well as lost coast

Cons: I expected it to be bigger lol

Other Thoughts: Its not really as big as everyone complains

5 out of 5 eggsSapphire X1800XT

Pros: Fast.
Quality Core.
Great Price.

Runs BF2 at full settings well as long as you have 2GB or RAM.

Far Cry Maximum Quality 1024x768 no problem.

For the price I couldn't be happier with the performance of this card. It runs hot but with ATI Tray Tools you can bump the fan up to keep the GPU temperature under 67C.

Cons: Sapphire Select (2 Free Games) does not work, the cd has a corrupted version of Brothers in Arms and Prince of Persia. However the other two games work with no problem. (Tony Hawk, and Rally).

Installation of the card itself was easy, however connecting the power cord proved to be tricky because of the way my computer was set up. (Note: The card will not let Windows load unless proper power is connected).

Other Thoughts: Overall Good Buy.

My System:

Shuttle SN25P
AMD 64 3500+ (2.2)
Seagate 120GB SATA 3.0 GB
X1800XT

5 out of 5 eggsQuality product & service

Pros: Easy installation (both software and hardware), great performance, no problems whatsoever with heating issues. Straight out of the box this card is capable of running most applications of today with relative ease. Super fast shipping is a big plus. I chose the standard shipping Newegg set as default and my order was delivered within three days.

Cons: Takes up two slots on your motherboard. This would be a big problem if more PCI Express devices were available on the market. Otherwise, nothing jumps out as a negative. Several people mention noise as a problem, but when I play a game, all I hear is audio from the game, not the fans in my system.

Other Thoughts: Excellent mid-range card that will either extend you current system's life, or it will give you new rig plenty of bang to get you going without the worry of needing an upgrade anytime soon.
